This has been bugging me for awhile, so I thought I’d seek some more COTH wisdom. I have aluminium stirrups on most of my western saddles. I get a black mark on the out side of my boot from contacting the stirrup. Saddle soap doesn’t touch the mark. What would take it off?
No ideas?
No mark removal ideas for teather. Getting the marks off the horse is not easy either. I got DDs stirrups covered in leather to prevent the horse mark problem, which also prevented the boot mark problem. Aluminum always leaves marks when it is rubbed. Maybe changing back to wooden, leather covered stirrups would work better for you.
Too bad, I thought someone might have a miracle cure! My show stirrups and everyday breakaways are aluminium. I love a heavy stirrup, so I guess I will just have to suck up the marks
