Removing sticky spray from boots HELP

Need to figure out the best way to remove the sticky spray from my boots, its starting to get gunky and gross.

Thanks in advance!

Rubbing alcohol on a rag will remove it. WD 40 also works.

Rubbing alcohol, soap and water, whatever. Since it’s only on the inside of your legs, don’t worry about losing color on the boots.

Rubbing alcohol.

If you’re concerned about putting rubbing alcohol on your boots (I was at first) you can also try a high quality leather soap and SCRUB until your arms feel like they are going to fall off. I used Higher Standard Leather Care soap on the insides of my boots and on my saddle to take the sticky stuff off.

Castile soap will also work wonders, I use that to clean my boots all the time - doesn’t leave a residue, especially on the inside of boots…

You shouldn’t use soap on the outside of boots if you can avoid it. It will strip the shine. You’re only supposed to clean with water, but if you HAVE to get stick spray off of the INSIDE, you can use some soap/alcohol. But it’s not good for the leather, and it will strip the shine.

Use your hairdryer to gently warm the sticky mess. Makes it easy to wipe off.

Kind of disagree - here’s the system from Shannon Peters, who sells a kit called Showring Shine - I don’t use the kit, but I do follow the steps. I’ve been treating my boots this way for the past couple of years, and haven’t had any problems losing shine on them:

Shannon’s winning system for a beautiful boot shine and excellent condition:
First, if your boots are very dirty, remove excess solid dirt, sweat and old polish with a clean, damp rag.
Next, put the Shine Rite® cleaning tool to work on especially hard-to-get dirt and grime along the sides of boot soles.
Douse the kit sponge in warm water and use it to apply Castile soap. Be sure to wring out the sponge to avoid building up suds that will leave a residue on your boots.
Apply Shine Rite® Leather Heel & Sole Edge Color Renew with its built-in applicator along the heels and outer soles of your boots.
Spread on a thin, even coat of Shine Rite® Platinum Premium Shoe Cream, shaking the tube well before each application. One coat is best.
Allow at least 5-10 minutes for the polish to dry. Once dry, use the kit’s buffing cloth to shine up your boots.

Spray a little no-stick cooking spray (like Pam) on a rag and do a small test area. It often takes sticky gunk off but I definitely advise starting small in case you don’t like the effect on your finish.

Thank you everybody! Tried alcohol, got alot of it off but not everything, next up is the hairdryer!

If anybody has any other suggestions they are more than welcome!
