Rental Horses for Beach Riding in Myrtle Beach?

A friend from Massachusetts will be visiting the Myrtle Beach area in May with her family. The friend and her daughter are very good riders and would like to rent horses to ride on the beach.

Is there anywhere in the Myrtle Beach area that offers beach rides in May?

Thanks in advance.

Inlet Point Plantation.

Thank you. I wrestled and wrestled with the Search feature and finally got a few threads to come up and that was the place recommended a year or so ago, too.

I sent the link to my friend.

We went to Inlet Point this past December. 2 hour WTC on the beach at sunset - it was awesome! 3 miles of clean private beach. Horses were nice, well cared for. They are careful to make sure each rider is safe and comfortable. My sister is much less experienced but hung right in there. They have rides are that are walk only for those with no experience and horses more appropriate for that, but the horses we got had a little bit of go.

There is a photographer that will meet you on the beach and do action and still shots. Kinda pricey but the pics were nice. I was able to snap a bunch of our group while on horse back.

I did buy one from the pro: http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz250/etho098731/myrtle%20beach/BDP_2355_zps5be27803.jpg

Waaa, I want to go back!

Ive never ridden at myrtle beach but if anyone is ever interested in riding their own horse on the beach you can do it at seabrook island 30 mins south of charleston. You can stable their and also ride through the marshes and we swam our horses in the ocean

There is a place in Conway. I think it is called Myrtle Beach Horseback riding and it was a good ride the horses were good, and you can bring beginners and experienced riders and they find good matches for horse and rider.

I’m not sure what stable that is. I couldn’t tell from a quick glance at their website.

Unfortunately, we are prohibited from riding on the beach from March 1- Oct 31. The reason Inlet Point can offer year-round beach rides is because Waities Island is privately owned and not subject to the prohibition. Other stables, like the one linked above, can only offer beach rides from November through February - and the OP’s friends are coming in May.

During tourist season, only riders on Inlet Point horses are allowed on Waities Island. But during the off-season - first of Nov through the end of February - you can trailer in with your own horse for a fee. I’m told it’s a nice ride, although I haven’t been yet.

That and Destin seem to be the vacation destinations for people that I work with and my DD goes with her future MIL and their family every year. We have one of those informal invites but I never thought there was any good reason to go, I’m a NorCal beach girl. Cold and lonely with foghorns, not crowded and full of suntan lotion. However that looks like an excellent place to ride,a great compromise.
