Renting a horse nebulizer?

So is this a thing? I talked to my vet about next steps for helping my mare that has respiratory airway disease and a nebulizer seems like the next step. If it helps I really wouldn’t mind making the investment but before I spend that kind of money I really want to try one to see if it’s worth it.

My vet said it’s pretty common that people “rent” out their nebulizer but I’ve never heard of anyone doing this. Is this common? She said she didn’t have any clients currently renting out theirs now but she said people do it.

At my last barn, one person got one for their horse and rented it to other boarders for a while until other boarders either decided it wasn’t helping or bought their own. But person who bought it was still using it, not renting it off site or anything like that.

I did borrow a friend’s for a few days while her horse was having some days off before I bought mine. I bought her a new bottle of the saline as a thank you.
