Replacement for Nutrena Empower Boost

About six months ago I started my 23 year old gelding on Nutrena Empower Boost to help him gain weight. He is also on Triple Crown Senior, 6 pounds a day and as much grass has as he will eat. His teeth aren’t great anymore and he quids his hay, so it’s harder to keep weight on him, hence the addition of Boost. It really made a big difference in finally getting him to a good weight.

Well apparently the manufacturing plant where Nutrena Empower Boost is made caught on fire and stopped production. It is unknown when it will resume. So I’m looking for other replacements for a high calorie, high fat addition. The feed store also has Purina Amplify but it’s nearly twice as expensive as Boost was. The also have this Manna Pro Renew Gold supplement but the nutrition breakdown is a bit different. Any other options? Anyone else in the same boat as me and what are you doing?

Max-E-Glo (Manna pro?). Plain rice bran (which is almost almost all fortified with calcium, a good thing for most situations), Triple Crown has a new rice bran product, ProElite has one.

all those fat supplements are mostly fat. Some are more fortified than others, but it’s little enough it really doesn’t make a significant difference in most cases. This includes Renew Gold.

I’d second the Renew Gold, either the normal or senior version. My barn has used it to great success on some of the hard keepers.

I think Renew Gold is super popular right now but for your money you can’t beat Manna Pro Max E Glo stabilized Rice Bran.

I agree that max-e-glo is cheaper and just as good.
