Replacing Horse Trailer Rear Lights

Has anyone done this? I’ve got an older circa 2005 Sundowner (not the model where the floor rusted out). I was annoyed yesterday to find most of my LEDs were out but then realized the thing is 20 years old.

From what I can tell, it seems they just push into the body and stay there with a rubber grommet. I found 1 You-Tube video that was not great so wondering if anyone else has done this or had it done?

TIA

Are you referring to the large rubber grommet between the base of the fixture that’s mounted on the trailer body and the LED light itself?

If so, the answer is yes, it just pushes into the grommet for retention after you plug in the wire connector.

Thanks.

I’ve got the lights ordered, very reasonable prices not from Sundowner, $12 for both.

Now, I’m on a mission to replace some of the marker/clearance lights. For some reason my trailer is supposed to be lit up like a Christmas trees; I’ve got a total of 17 marker lights and those suckers are almost $10 each from Sundowner!

For safety, also look at the condition of the conspicuity tape (reflective red and white tape) on your trailer. Mine was noticeably dull after ten years. I replaced it with the 3M brand tape and the difference is amazing.
