I just bought a new Tipperary Eventer vest. Is there any reason I can’t replace the side laces with different ones? They look like fairly standard laces to me, but if there’s something special about them I don’t want to mess it up.
Nope - just a pain if you’re not good at lacing things 
As kids, we used to go wild with colored laces for hunter pace costumes or team challenges.

Not to hijack, but what is a neat (tidy) way to shorten/braid/weave those laces so they’re not so dang long? I know I could cut them, but if there is a less permanent way to do this…maybe just buy shorter laces?
