Reputable East Coast Sale Barns

ISO sale barn, ideally on the East Coast, to sell a few dressage horses. All amateur friendly, varying levels between first and fourth. Would prefer someone open to taking the horses on consignment/on the cuff. Owner is willing to send them to Florida. Looking for a trainer that is upfront, honest, and will provide good care and training (but who isn’t seeking that!)

All are currently in a professional program, due to owner’s lack of time and personal circumstances.

Please feel free to PM me with programs to avoid.

Price ranges? If they are six figure horses the recommendations would be different than if they are low five figure ones.

Horses are priced in the low to mid five figures. All warmbloods with papers/passports (I know, you don’t ride the papers); two are imported.

Lauren Chumley is in NJ and FL.

I second Lauren Chumley, but I don’t think you are going to find anyone who is going to support someone else’s horses, especially in FL, until they sell. (I’m assuming that’s what you meant by taking them on consignment–I could be wrong.). Its too expensive, and pros usually work pretty close to the financial edge. Having to buy $22/bale hay and rent $1000/mo dry stalls for a few extra horses, for who knows how long, is a lot to ask…

@fancy.pants I appreciate that. But perhaps there is a reputable program that has a client willing to cover the expenses, and enjoy a nice horse to ride, while the horse is marketed for sale or lease. I am sure the owner is open to a situation like that. Perhaps it is not available, but worth the inquiry.

I actually saw a post on Facebook the other day where someone was looking for a similar situation that you are proposing, so they are out there. I will see if I can find it again.

I third Lauren Chumley, but also echo fancy.pants’ sentiments.
