The dogs they are breeding have done nothing. Absolutely nothing. If you are anti AKC conformation showing, fine. However, these dogs should have significant working titles or performance titles to justify intentional breeding. That’s true for any breed. Half the dogs don’t have pedigrees up or visible health testing. The pictures of their dogs aren’t even basic conformation pictures. By breed standard their dogs are large, coarse, and lack breed type. Their social media recent litters I’d peg as GSD crosses before purebreds.
From the odd language of “visiting with the dogs daily” I’m guessing they are kenneled and likely getting a fraction of the socialization of a true indoor pet, especially if they aren’t doing any training or performance work. They also are very vocal about the buyers responsibility for training, which could mean that they’ve had issues with prior litters and socialization. They also are breeding dogs without health testing. The very few that do are listed as good or normal and the OFA number is not displayed.
I’ve seen way way worse breeders out there. I don’t think they are a puppy mill and you’ll probably end up with a fine enough dog. If I was going to work with an intentionally bred dog, it just isn’t the type of breeder I would choose to work with. If I wanted a loosely GSD type I’d go adopt and pocket $2k for future vet bills.
