*RESOLVED* "stolen filly.....i need help!"

I have a call in to a District Judge, a relative, to learn why CA seems so apathetic about moving on the hot checks, arrest warrants, etc. Also calling the same top equine atty. in CA who advised me on my problem with the registration of my Redwine filly. The hot checks that I am aware of have been to IHF, to GOV, to AHS, and to this OP. I covered two of those myself so have some stake in this problem.

Meanwhile back at the National Governing Body…

Ranked #1

GRAY FOX FARM, LLC - PETALUMA, CA388

I am surprised I didn’t have any problem registering my horse and nominating him to the IHF… I paid a lot… but I also noticed they don’t have his year up for nominated foals yet. IHF just takes forever.

Curious reading USEF info of a top ranking filly:

RAPTURE
Sire: REDWINE

Dam: UNKNOWN

Breed: WARMBLOOD

Breeder: GRAY FOX FARM, LLC

Rapture is a yearling filly. DAM UNKNOWN…although GFF is the breeder…

So is the USEF aware of any of this? Why would she continue to be #1 with all this fraudulent activity? Is the hunter breeding world this shallow? No offense to the reputable breeders out there.

Not sure if someone posted this yet, but the filly is now advertised on bigeq.com

Lulu,
Could you post this link over on the H/J thread (H/J folks fellow COTHer needs your help) so they can see the filly without wading through this very long thread?

Reputable Breeders struggle to keep up with Horse Crooks. People steal Horse IDs and OMIT info to HIDE the TRUE ID of horses recorded with the USEF.

Why would they care?
She hasn’t been suspended by USEF for rule violations.
There are a few BNT presently with ownership disputes and civil suits ongoing. USEF does not get involved.

USEF WILL care if there is a criminal conviction for things like Horse Abuse, Stalking, threats ( verbal or written) and a few other things.

She is # 1 because her stallion’s offspring continue to win in HB classes.

Can anyone with a legal background tell me… once a person starts peddling property they don’t rightfully own on the internet isn’t that a federal offense? As I recall from another thread (about that charlatan Thomson Moore) the FBI has a unit devoted to fraudulent online sales. I should think this would qualify.

Good question Lulu. I’m sure one of the legal folks here would know. Of course, the OP’s attorney, should know as well.

I’ll try to keep the thread on the H/J forum bumped. I’m sure more people will look now that you have (so kindly) put a link to a picture over there. Hope someone will take a screen shot in case it disappears!

This situation just really irks me. I remember the lady trying to get ahold of this GFF women, frantic about the mare she shipped, and now this…

I hope we can do something to keep anyone else from being hurt by this person.

To my knowledge, an internet fraud report was filed some time ago, as most of the GFF clients’ initial contacts have come via the internet, including the GFF website.

Nevermind the countless threads etc. Would be one thing if she at least defended herself, or heck, didnt let mares just sent there to BREED leave when needed. Sad that such great horses who can truly improve the breeds, are stuck in such a place thier mark will never be made.[/QUOTE]

‘Great horses who can truly improve the breeds’? Are you referring to some of those mares. Yes; there are a few great mares there.

I think I may look into this, perhaps send USEF an inquiry to see where exactly they draw the line. I understand them not wanting to get mixed up in civil matters that don’t directly pertain to showing but I also think they should care about who they recognize as professionals and how those people conduct themselves.

While I don’t think her behavior is acceptable as an amateur, it definitely isn’t befitting of a professional!

Yep, this has already been mentioned in an earlier post. Rapture’s foaling date on the USEF reg. is listed as 7/1/2011, but it’s actually 6/28/2011. Dam was Itzy Doll by Idol.

Apparently GFF purposely provided incomplete and false information to USEF for Rapture’s registration.

Just to be clear, Rapture is not the filly the OP is trying to get returned. Rapture is on the east coast and being shown in HB classes. Both fillies look very similar.
Rapture’s handler has posted here and says that GFF has been paying the bills and so far, there’s been no problem.

The horse the OP is looking for is Raven Ridge (listed for sale on the GFF website).

Actually it’s not that they win, it’s that there are a lot of them showing, and placing 4th out of 5 horses. It’s quantity, not quality.

Unfortunately to have an entity like GFF as USEF’s leading hunter breeding breeder discredits USEF, their method of registration, and the HB division. And all that affects honest breeders and their clients.

When it gets embarassing enough for USEF, they’ll take action.

interesting because i know for a fact that gray fox farm is not the breeder of this filly. yes gff owns redwine, but were not responsible for the breeding of this filly.

This!

I thought the COTH poster lauriep; Junior Johnson was representing the GFF show horses? I saw photos posted in March of this year with him leading GFF horses. I was surprised with the reputation for bad business GFF had that they took her on. I guess the party is over?

Who is this latest trainer rocksolid?

Perhaps Junior starting having some payment issues??? No idea, but that would follow the pattern.

They were, and they defended her at the time.

rocksolid appears to be: http://rocksolidstables.com/

It’s up to them who they do business with, but as I said on an earlier post, why anyone would do business with someone who stiffed John French (as well as Perfect Peter Pletcher) to the point where he had to get a judgement, and then ARREST WARRANT when they still didn’t pay, is quite beyond me.
