*RESOLVED* "stolen filly.....i need help!"
Another Lie apparently . Looks like Secret Ambition Stables bred the filly from a leased mare NOT owned by JB

http://secretambitionstables.com/?page_id=66
Oh I had the impression that Itzy Doll was owned by Secret Ambition Stables, and they had offered the mare for a broodmare lease. So was thinking that GFF leased the mare from Secret Ambition for a Redwine breeding. The USEF reg. says GFF is the breeder.

See this: http://www.horseclicks.com/beautiful_oldenburg_mare_for_on_site_breed_lease_c/advert/127432

Apparently the info on Rapture’s USEF reg. is purposefully incorrect and deliberately incomplete, as is the filly’s For Sale listing on the GFF website.
Wait are we talking about the same filly"Rapture" (not the OP’s) she featured on her “Blog” shown as a skinny mess claiming it came from a “near by breeder” and that she’d bought a bunch of babies by her stallion.

http://grayfoxfarm.blogspot.com/ Scroll down to the March 12th Entry.

If its the same filly wouldn’t the person who bred her know who her dam was?

Seems a little suspect to me that she could remember all that about where she came from and how many other babies and what she did week by week to improve her. Yet has no clue about her parentage. Also I assume that since Rapture is the same age as the OP’s filly and the OP is either one of the “breeders” or the “show barn” or "backyard " people what Mrs. J.B says about them could be taken as slander.

Seems like a load of crap to cover up a filly out of a not so great mare or maybe not even a WB mare.

Further more …how is she buying up 5 weanling/yearlings when she can’t pay her bills well enough to even keep her house.

" Two came from experienced breeders that breed multiple horses a year and have been breeding for years. One came from a show barn and 2 from Backyard people. The two from breeders were extremely thin, one was sick and both had worms. Both had no interest in their surroundings and very little energy. The vet diagnosed them as severely malnourished. Both breeders thought the babies looked fine and it was business as usual. The body score was about a 2.

The two from backyard people, one was in very good shape and one was rough but fairly healthy although wormy. The show person’s baby was in good weight and looked fine. All in all the backyard people and the show person did a reasonably good job.

It occurred to me that no one thought they were doing a bad job. I hope that the breeders didn’t mean to starve their babies."
i am the:
The show person’s baby was in good weight and looked fine.
Actually Mardi if you take a look you will find MANY breeders that don’t have a dam listed.
Understood, but GFF owns the stallion the mare was bred to, and GFF claims that the dam is unknown.

What did mare did GFF write down on the breeding contract ? And on the breeding certificate ?

Of course, if GFF owned and bred the mare herself, she didn’t have to fill out a breeding contract or breeding certificate.

This is a well known and heavily advertised breeding stallion. Surely GFF knows which mare she inseminated.

There’s something not right here, that’s all I’m saying.

BTW, The American Performance Horse registry requires either breed papers or a “USEF Breeding Affadavit” for enrollment. The affidavit requires proof of breeding. Rapture has been enrolled. It seems that GFF doesn’t have the breed papers, so she must have submitted an incomplete affidavit ? http://www.phr.com/documents/aph/APH_Breeder_Affidavit.pdf

Yes, I bred “Rapture”, her name was Rendition. Won’t go any farther into it. I paid the breeding fee, mare is in my pasture, I AM THE BREEDER. Want to take a look at the condition of my horses? Give me a call and I’m more than pleased to show you around

What a trainwreck. Dressage_Diva, I would be a bit pissed if trash like JB was bashing me. Can’t someone inform the registry of all the lies on the documentation, and work on getting actions moving towards Jill in that sense?

Why not sell off the young stock at half price, cut your losses, and start fresh? Heck, sell Redwine, I am sure hes worth a few $$.

Read this whole thread… my brain hurts.

Roy Parker / Jill Burnell / Sybil - do you keep notes when you wake up in the morning as to what each of your alters stated so you can keep everything straight the next day and remember who you are supposed to be THAT day?

Man - first it was your dog Dexter on the HGS board. Now you’re the “Hanging Judge” here today. Will Bugs Bunny be next???

But Summitt and TCF are again disturbers that would rather see the competition disappear so I cannot take their words seriously

Uh … Roy / Jill / Sybil - whoever you are today  in case you havent noticed, I have “0” that I am showing in the HB classes this year, so quite frankly I dont give a rats ass if the Redwine offspring are #1, #25 or #100

And if I DID have something showing, I wouldnt be leaving a trail of unpaid bills behind me while I pretended that all was good with everyone I had dealt with previously

I have exactly 3 posts in a thread with over 120 entries. isl has 2. And WE are “disturbers” for stating facts that you dont happen to like or want to acknowledge???

So while you are taking your time checking on show entries and trying to find alternate bank accounts you are missing the opportunity to do good things for your business.

Aah - no Roy/Jill/Sybil. My business is doing quite nicely on its own, thanks very much for your concern and comments. Things tend to go that way when you play fair with your clients, are honest and pay your bills …

For the record - I bought my latest stallion Panoramic on payments. Heck - I bought Guaranteed Gold on payments as well. Panoramic shipped to me once I had paid 1/4 of him, from WA State to Canada. Really and truly? If I had wanted to pull a “Jill Burnell” on his previous owners, there is nothing they could have done about it, with me being in another country, with me not needing the original JC papers to breed him to anything other than WB mares and with the legal costs exceeding what I owed on him. I knew that - very well - but guess what? I was late on 1 payment and when I knew I was going to be late, I emailed them, explained the situation and asked if I could please have a 1 month extension on my contract which they kindly granted to me. At the end, they said how grateful they were that I had kept my word and paid him off without them ever having to hound me for money let alone go on a bulletin board such as this one to “expose” me for being a liar and a thief …

The stallion - Winner - I was standing a year or so ago, went to another breeding farm for a month where he ended up colicking and dying. I had several paid bookings to him already and believe me - I had several "Oh $hit!"moments when I sat down and figured out how much money I had to return. I had a drink, sent out emails explaining what had happened, offered a couple of different options and waited to hear back from the Mare Owners. Those that requested their money back, I did. It may have taken a few weeks for me to pay everyone off, but it was SO important to me that if my name ever came up - anywhere - I would have a long list of people stating that I treated them fairly and ethically and I did what was right. Even though my contract clearly states that the booking fee is not refundable under any circumstances, I put myself in my clients shoes and felt the only fair thing was to give it back. Which I did …

I guess in the end, either you are an ethical, fair and honorable person or you’re not. And no amount of finger pointing, calling out on threads on so many BB’s, lawsuits, judgments, repossessions, etc will make you believe that you are doing anything wrong if you dont have the “moral compass” (as someone else stated earlier on) that clearly tells you - inside - when you are doing something wrong …

Telling people to not have any dealings with them then faulting them for not being able to pay their bills is sort of absurd.

Are you REALLY that stupid and narrow minded / short sighted??? Geez Louise - this isnt ONE person with a personal vendetta against another. This is a whole sordid string of people in JB’s wake that have been screwed and taken advantage of from every industry and every walk of life. Surely to God ALL of them cannot be wrong and Jill is the wronged party???

And how about the load of hay that Jill bought and charged to her supposed business partner and when said supposed business partner got their invoice and saw all of this hay on there that they hadnt ordered and hadnt received they found out who REALLY received it? And this wasnt 2nd or 3rd hand info - I got this DIRECT from the person that had been invoiced for it! I mean really Roy / Jill / Sybil - WHO does stuff like this and then hangs out their shingle stating they are a professional and successful breeding operation?! I guess we could all be wildly successful if we bought stuff and charged it to others for them to pay for it for us…

Dressage_Diva, I would be a bit pissed if trash like JB was bashing me.

Ah - but Dressage_Diva hasnt made it to Jill’s blog yet! Thats when you know you have TRULY arrived and are firmly in her sights! I think Daventry is next, maybe DD will follow after that … … and whoever else said mean things about her on this and other threads…

HEY ROY PARKER - GFF IS NO COMPETITION TO ME!! So your allegation is baseless. I rarely sell horses to the Hunter world and NEVER show them on line in the Hunters. I’m on the East Coast and the stallion I own is German Riding Pony. So how do I compete with GFF? I will look forward to you retracting your comment.

What I KNOW are people who have been financiall screwed by GFF and I’ve seen more than enough to have the opinion that this woman is a HOARDER. And the horses are paying the price now and will into the future. I would venture a good guess that she’s financially bankrupt but just doesn’t want to face reality and get help to do a “work out plan”.

I hope the people who have horses/foals with her get them out as soon as possible. And if JB has even a partial brain in her head she will STOP BREEDING and get herself financially solvent.

I see that ratings have been disabled for her YouTube videos…

Then there is this, from the very front page of her website:
PLEASE NOTE: Redwine is fully nominated to the IHF for 2011 foals. An error was made by IHF as he was fully nominated in 2010 for 2011. If you wish to nominate a 2011 Redwine foal, you must pay the IHF by the end of January 2012. If you wish to nominate a 2012 foal, please contact grayfoxfarms@yahoo.com

Did they make a mistake and forget to get paid??

“Roy”, aka Jill Burnell, regarding your statement, “I do not see top hunter barns or top breeding farms on here bashing another breeder. So must assume the operations are fairly small”:

My breeding operation is very small, one or two foals per year, but since 2007 I’ve had:

USEF/USHJA #3 and #4 Nationally-Ranked Yearling and Two Year Old, as well as Top Ten USEF HB Breeder, HB Owner (this with one horse prepped, hauled, and occasionally handled by me). Winner at Devon, two-time Sallie B. Wheeler class winner. IHF winner.

National Res. Ch. USEA Future Event Horse (one horse), Nat’l Ch. USEA FEH Yearling (one different colt), Nat’l Ch. East FEH Two Yr Old Filly (one different filly), also prepped and hauled by me.

USDF Reg. One High Score Three Year Old Filly (one horse), prepped and trailered by me

Three of my Hanoverians are collecting points and championships in the hunter ring and one is a winning show jumper.

…and all of this with a handful of homebreds and a lot of work, but I’m solvent and my bills get paid. In this economy, it doesn’t pay to overextend.
I am a good breeder, a smart breeder, a very small breeder, and deal fairly with people.

You could learn if you are as smart as you seem to think you are.

I’d start by figuring out a way to get the OP owner’s horse back to her as quickly as possible.

Laurel Leaf Hanoverians: Facebook

Diane Halpin: Facebook

This is turning into a boxed wine and popcorn thread.

(Best wishes to the OP and other screwed over parties)

I can’t believe how many likes the woman has on her fb page!

TC I think Dressage Diva might be mentioned in her blog as one of the backyard breeders? I’m trying to keep all the info straight here;)

Oh but they have. Just whom do you think the skinny foal blog was about? It was photos of the baby she bred talking about what terrible condition she was in. I’d sue that women for slander up one side of this country and down the next.

Not only does she have a blog post about her but she clearly is refusing to name her as the breeder and trying to avoid it entirely by just not naming the filly’s dam.

Its a small world JB time to get off that kiddie ride.

OP, any news on getting back your stolen filly?

I wonder if the IRS would be interested in investigating JB and her business. Isn’t that the way they finally got Al Capone?

Just a note to those who do business with people with a history of not paying and are currently getting paid … a typical pattern is to establish good credit and then start stiffing people after gaining trust. So, the bills are all paid, credit established, and then a big bill run up – never paid.

Happens all the time in the restaurant business. The borrower just goes to another supplier.

In this case, paying those you know you have to and not paying people that you calculate can’t do anything about it is very “foxy.”

I agree, lots of churning going on, it appears.

As to going on someone’s property and reposessing something, you really can’t do it. I am sure if the OP had been able to do so, she would have.

Good luck getting your filly back. I would guess this thread should make her a little too hot to handle, maybe GFF will give up trying to sell her, although from the posts, sounds like she thinks she owns the filly and doesn’t have to give her back.

I stand corrected Dressage_Diva and I swear I wasnt trying to hog the “JB Blog Limelight” all on my own

You made it there before I did. I am in 2nd position behind you.

Yeah - I think I’d sue her ass off if I was you too …

As we are still owed a large sum of money by this party, I did contact the DAs office as well as a detective in the local sheriff’s office and they do consider all of these incidents except for the returned checks to be civil matters. You would think this would be considered criminal fraud as this appears to be a pattern, but apparently not. This might be one of these situations that you could get an investigative journalist to do a report then maybe the DA would bite.

I would not put it past some people. Just saying. Though I do not think that is the intent of this thread at all.

OP, hope you get your filly back.

Oh, and while we are on the subject, Roy/Jill, (in case you’re wondering since you’ve never inquired about my mare once she was yanked off your property last year):
-She’s fine, she’s gained back the two hundred or so pounds she lost while in your care. Interesting since she is an absolute air fern.
-She arrived back home completely OPEN (big shock there, eh?). I’m not sure what your “vet” had seen on ultrasound, because you would never cough those up, but she never even sniffed being in foal. I’m glad I didn’t ‘leave her on your property during her pregnancy’. That would have been a nice board bill that you were getting every month, though. Smart thinking.
-The two huge hematomas that she showed up with have gone away… I don’t even want to guess where those came from.
-Her feet got trimmed finally, front shoes and pads tacked back on. It took a while but her angles are normal again. Not sure why you were going for the Saddlebred look with a mare who had specific shoeing issues that I gladly paid for each month.
-I was a little surprised that it took my awesome shippers THREE HOURS to get my mare off your property. She was never yours and I had tried to contact you to let you know that they were coming to get her for days and days prior. You conveniently were unreachable, but I’m wondering why you were so reluctant to hand her over. What did you intend to do with a mare who wasn’t yours? Makes me wonder.
-Once I picked my jaw up off the ground from seeing what she looked like when she arrived back at our farm (don’t worry, I have before and after pictures, they’re shocking), she is happily retired and will never see the likes of someone like you for as long as she lives.

The trainers who are showing your filly back East are also trainers for another client whom you sold a colt too, right? I’m sure that they are kind and reputable people, and I’m thrilled if you are actually paying them, for their sake.

And OP, I know the feeling of the mess that you are in and I really hope that you get your filly back soon, for both your sakes.

The horror story keeps getting longer and longer. I pray someone is finally successful at putting an end to this once and for all.

Hope you get your filly back!!! I have seen a few threads like this too… I am just thanking my lucky stars I got my gelding in one piece! But I do have to say I never got his first copy of his reg. papers I had to apply for a second copy and his paperwork to me from the shippers was very fishy! The horse came with a lot of problems and now he is in training at the hunter barn where I ride. Makes me wonder. You can PM me if you want details.
