Restaurants in Lexington?

I could never afford Dudley’s on Short. Their prices compare to NYC restaurant prices. One review from a couple of years ago said that 4 people ate for an average of $56 APIECE without wine. And the prices have increased by about 15% since then.

For breakfast, you gotta try Sam’s.

I like the BBQ at Ramsey’s and like a nice dinner at Jonathan’s at Gratz Park downtown. Breakfast at the Keeneland track kitchen.

We tried Shakespeare & Co a couple of weeks ago (downtown) and it was really good. My favorite is Saul Good, there is one by the mall and another in Hamburg. Everyone else’s suggestions are good as well. Lots and lots of good eats here!

Windy Corner Market, Wallace Station, Darlin Jean’s Apple Cobbler Cafe, Grey Goose, Shakespeare & Co, are all great. Just tried a new place called The Jax and it was fabulous.

Table 310 downtown is yummy and fairly reasonable - excellent desserts! Halls on the River is a bit out of town, but fun and tasty as well. I also agree with Jalepenos - we always go when we’re in town!

Georgia’s Kitchen Cafe on Broadway in Lexington is fantastic. They have a very eclectic menu, including some traditional Middle Eastern fare. Their quiche, of any variety, is my favorite. Between the decor, the food and the excellent service, it’s always my go to when I’m in town.

I agree about Georgia’s. Also, Shakespeare (downtown, Broadway & Short) is excellent. Both are under related ownership and have the same high quality standards. It’s not super cheap, but it’s worth it. Both are very unique restaurants with well-trained staff. It’s nice, but not too fancy; I’ve gone in there before in barn clothes and no one looked down their nose at me. (Or if they did, I didn’t notice!)

Go to Midway to Heirloom (amazing lemon pie/wonderful all around) or Grey Goose (dont care for Darlin’ Jeans).

Azur in Lexington is good.

Hands down the best place for Mexican is Durangos. My family and I have gone since I was little like once a week :).
For a fancier place try Le Deauville. Its the best restaurant in Lexington in my opinion.

Joe Bolonga’s for Pizza. The absolute best. And great bread sticks too!! For me it an absolute must do when in Lexington!!! And I grew up around there.

I moved here from CA in 2016 and it took me a while to find the good spots…I love Kentucy and Kentuckians, but boy do they like their chain food places.

If you like indian food try marsala, and next door to that is a fabulous middle eastern restaurant called Sahara that is all very fresh, healthy, cheap, and absolutely amazing! They are only open until 6 though, but a perfect quick lunch place with more than you can eat for $10.
We like to go to breakfast at Josie’s or Wild Eggs, or Tack House Pub. Basic clean american diner style.

I love Dudley’s on Short but it is pricey. Same for 310…but those duck fat fries are worth it! Lol. If you like pho my husband and I enjoy Pho BC and Pho Saigon. Pizza from Crust is good.

Enjoy the bluegrass! If you have time to get out of Lexington after doing horsey stuff for the day, Red River Gorge is a gem and has fun hikes and you finish with a pizza at Miguel’s.

uhhh this thread is 5 years old and 75% of the restaurants named are now closed (even some in the new replies)…
