Anyone know? I can’t find anything online. I did find results for all the other regionals held yesterday. I’m getting ready to do my annual equitation finals spreadsheet.

As of now, just the top 18 per NHS website. Their current cutoffs only add up to 117 and they accept 150, so that should go up to ~22/23 once the remaining regionals are finished.

Oh yes. Yes, I am. If only I could bring this level of organization and drive to my real job…
Thanks, all! I like to track the “also rans” from year to year to see how they improve over the years, but I didn’t get all the orders in advance.
I have the flat groups from Region 8 which I’m pretty sure are in order within each group. Will post later. Also have the course and will post a link to that.

So many barns are either staying home for safety or are quarantined for the Vesicular Stomatitis outbreak here. However, word is that quarantine lifts are outpacing new quarantines by 3-1.

So does that mean a bunch of kids missed out on the chance to qualify for the Maclay finals? That would be a shame, especially for those in their last year.
And is there a junior in Region 5 named Tony Font??

Tony Font is the horse owner. The rider was Emma Green. That was my mistake.
I was at the Region 5 Final. Smaller group than I’ve seen in years past, and a testing first round course that resulted in a LOT of refusals. At one point there was a consecutive string of four or five who did not make it around without a stop. Your heart just breaks for those kids. Some rider error, some horses just saying, “NO.” There was also an extremely tight inside turn that caused problems for many. Very difficult to do smoothly.
The most refusals were at an airy Swedish oxer with no ground lines and grey poles, and some natural-looking jumps with brush under them (used in Derby the night before). Two of the natural jumps also had large cutouts of cardinals for the standards (dressed in STL Cardinals jerseys), and at least one horse never did get over those at all. So some very “jumpery” jumps but they’re certainly going to get those at the National Finals!
I saw some very capable, confident rides. You know they’re doing it right when it looks easy! I always enjoy the flat phase and was surprised when no lengthenings were called for. Much sitting trot, though.
Top four tested and I thought it was a very good test. Hand gallop off the line to Fence 1, then the Swedish, then bending line to trot jump. This was especially tricky because in the first round they’d had to step on the gas to get to that jump from the oxer. Two out of the four never managed to trot at all, just a disorganized “tranter.” One managed a single stride or so. Only the winner put in a proper trot jump so she was the clear pick right there. There were a couple more jumps and a halt following.
Always fun to watch and I wish all the Regional Finalists the best of luck in Lexington!

I am not sure why only four entries otherwise. Usually numbers in the teens or so. Most of the big H-J barns are not in the areas highly quarantined. I did not go watch this year as the Regionals were moved an hour away from me, vs the very close Colorado Horse Park.
This has been a bust of a serious riding summer all around with the never-ending Monsoon (but we needed it badly), and the quarantines. My trainer’s barn is voluntarily isolating themselves, and that means I cannot haul in for lessons. No joke, as two horses in Colo have been euthanized due to separating coronet bands/heel bulbs in multiple feet.
^ Plumcreek, thanks. Very unfortunate situation.
