Fair Play

Laurens was on television tonight and it was obvious that he was not happy with the whole saddlepad thing.

Riding at the WEG and planning to do a 30 minute warm-up and 20 minutes from this is stolen from you, doesn’t seem a good preparation
to me.

And do you think that riding with a wet saddlepad from another horse is fun

I hope the RaboBank will claim their 7 minutes lack of advertising <lol>

Oh sweet mother of God are they still doing that??? I didn’t see.

I thought they came up with that new funky USA ‘logo’ to use…which just irks me…I mean, the “logo” of a country ought to be its flag, nothing else, IMHO. Actually you know it would not surprise me a bit if the USEF marketing dept went and got a bunch of stuff made having NO CLUE that there are FEI rules about what can and can’t be displayed and where and how big, etc. That would be too funny–er, I mean…really, really bad and unfortunate:D–if they mucked something like that up.

The FEI Stewarts know the basic rules but very simple not the particulars. The FEI should have handed the Stewart a piece of paper on which the particular team sponsors are listed.
To blame the Germans or The Rider is stupid.

Just think how the endurance rider should feel, how many did get pulled at the vet checks, over 50% ??? including the whole team of one country, the favorite and leading team, at the last vet check.

Please folks, try to be realistic. Officials make mistakes, Teams make mistakes, and ??? big deal, it sucks, sure, but that is part of al sports.

actually now that I think about it, the USEF has got some VERY weird hangup with the US flag. I was at the KHP about a year ago, and they had umpteen flagpoles up, all displaying somewhat tattered American flags…I was told these were put up following Sept 11 2001. I thought well hmm…that was 4 years ago, don’t wear it out…they’re no longer fit for display but…whatever.

Then I was there again this spring, and the same tattered flags were now literally hanging by threads and I just thought what the hell is wrong with OUR NATIONAL FEDERATION that they all walk into this building everyday and no one notices this? It’s just weird. Even the main flag pole isn’t hung right , they have their own flag at the same level as the US flag–not that they think too highly of themselves or anything!!!.

back to the games - hooray Gunter Siedel! and the lovely Aragon (5th) and actually, Leslie is 18th and blaming the photographers for making her horse tense - a very LM thing to do - blame the “whatever”.

actually…some do, some don’t. Crapshoot.

The FEI should have handed the Stewart a piece of paper on which the particular team sponsors are listed.
Since it’s up to the OC what logos to permit, and the OC–not the FEI–processes the entries, such a responsibility (a good idea, BTW) would fall clearly under those of the OC. It’s the OC’s job, under the oversight of the hosting NF, and of course in conjunction with the officials, to see that the rules are upheld at any FEI event, including world championships. If officials need info beyond the rule books in order to do their job, that is for the OC to provide along with the event schedule once the FEI has approved it. THE FEI DOESN’T RUN THE EVENT–THE ORGANISER DOES.

Please folks, try to be realistic. Officials make mistakes, Teams make mistakes, and ??? big deal, it sucks, sure, but that is part of al sports.
I will never accept the current and historical levels of mistake-making and rule-not-knowing (by all parties involved–competitors, coaches, vets, NFs, officials, OCs), as being an acceptable level for this or any other international sport. It’s unprofessional and really needs considerable improvement, IMO.

Unprofessional, thats a big word. Especialy if you get to the warm up of a realy important show and some dumb a… stewart starts dinging around with you.
The handlers, coach or what so ever lost their heads and should have goten a TD and straightened it out
