Retirement farms in NC?

Hi all. Looking for a high quality retirement home for my dear older gelding. I haven’t found what I’m looking for. I guess I have high standards for him! Does anyone know good retirement places in NC? I’m in the Winston-Salem area, but wouldn’t be opposed to looking within 100 miles or so.

Ideally, I would like a place that is very attentive, not too many horses per pasture, and has stalls available for inclement weather (or at least ample shelter in the turnouts). Good farrier is a must. Trails would be nice, but not mandatory.

Thanks in advance.

My gelding is in Robbins, NC at a fabulous retirement farm that I would highly recommend to anyone. Feel free to PM me for the phone number if that’s not too far for you

Not too far! I’ll send you a pm now.

If you’re still looking, consider Buckhorn Farm in Southern Pines/Vass NC.
Lots of pasture board options with run-in sheds, and absolutely amazing trail access (direct access to WMF). There is also a covered arena and outdoor rings as well. I think many of the boarders actively ride/show, but I know there are couple of retirees there as well. I’ve never boarded there but live nearby, and horses and people all seem happy.

I’d love to know more about this fabulous place. I’m also in NC but my horse is semi-retired in TX and needs to go fully retired. Want him closer to me. Thanks in advance!

Sent you a PM
