I get super tired of seeing people at clinics who have paid a small fortune for gear that can be had or made so much more cheaply. I don’t get upset with the people who have them, I do feel bad for them because for instance those little retractable training flags run $25 a piece and I don’t know about you but I would much rather make my own for $4.50 a piece. I get upset with clinicians who push all this spendy gear, not the folks who buy it. I also use these to flag cattle when working them in corrals or alleys etc. because a flag doesn’t get them nearly so wound up as whips, prods etc. do and when I am done I can just retract it and stick it in a saddle bag.
