Reviews ona 2+1 trailer?

Love our 2+1, steel. Used it for showing and loved being able to tack up and hang out in the front part, as we usually only haul two horses. Ours does have a separate tack room up front as well.

Yes, it’s long and probably quite heavy, but it hauls like a charm and is very robust indeed. Horses seem v happy in it, too, probably because of all that extra head room.

I bought what I think (in my really biased opinion) is the greatest trailer on earth!

I know the pics don’t show it, but it’s an 8 yr old trailer that we bought a few months ago. It’s a custom Adam 2+1 that originally when we bought it did not have the doors in front of the 2 straight stalls, so Eby (Who we bought it from) was nice enough to fabricate some for us. LOVE those doors, love that I have 2 very useful box stalls when needed and love that even extra tall and long I still only top out at 14k GVW.

Now tonight we’re picking up our new, to us, truck for this trailer. We did well on our old truck but we decided to make a change.

I really do love this rig and I often drag people inside to look at all the features of it. Many folks I know really like the Adam’s and I am among that crowd. Especially at their price point and what you get for your money. Fwiw I moved up to this from a Hawk straight 2 h gn with Dr.

I just got a Hawk 2+1 as well, gooseneck version since I wanted a sleeping spot, front slant with straight load in the back. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I love the flexibility, I love how safe it is for our kids, I love that I can get to any horse any time. We foxhunt, so ours tend to hang out in the trailer a lot, and sometimes take longs trips, so we wanted to be able to easily water them while in the trailer.

Ours is the version with a slant in front (not square), which makes for a bit more room in the dressing room without adding length. Then we customized ours with a bit of extra room added between the front slant and the back two straight load stalls so that we could fit a 4th small horse or pony in that spot. Modified the escape door there with outside latch and added a lower chest bar. Our little Shetland ADORES his pony stall! Our 15h POA cross also fits nicely in there.

When there is just two of us, we use the front as a feed stall, but I can also see tacking up in there on a rainy day. I hauled a bad loader the other day, and she was a completely different horse using the side ramp, AND she got to have the entire front section as a box stall and she hauled loose.

It is truly my dream trailer and every time I look out the window I smile and do a little happy dance

I have been looking at this trailer. Do you have any issue with the pin on the dividing bi fold door that separates the 3rd horse stall not being able to go into the hole because it gets jammed up with sawdust? Is there any option you couldn’t do without or any option you could do without to save money? Have you ever had a horse that didn’t like to go backwards and you switched yours to forward facing?
Thanks

I have a hawk 2+1 and it rocks my world. I frequently pick up young horses at the track and I have the option of loading from the back or side if I have issues. I have extra room in my box stall and have had four horses in my trailer (not frequently but they fit. I have the ramp and doors in the back which I love because the doors make it easy to have a solid wall behind a horse if you want to back one off. I have the bi fold stud gate in the front of the 2 stalls and it has held up great. Just a great trailer. I worked with Risa from Happy Trails Trailers and she was amazing.

We have a really BIG Jamco 2+1 (can be a 3+1 if needed) that we love. 8’ dressing room and 10’ front box. Built like a tank.

I love my Custom Fab 2 horse combo, and sad to see it go, but not more use for it. It is extra tall 7’6" and has 2 regular stalls with a large space in front that can be converted into 2 box stalls for 2 mares and foals. It has a back and side ramp, + a door on the opposite side - amazing ventilation for hanging out at shows in the shade. I love to use the 2 regular stalls for the showing horses, and put a few chairs, cooler, etc in the front part - perfect comfort zone in the shade!

I also sometimes put a horse in the front on cross ties for grooming/tacking.

For hauling, I have used the 2 regular stalls + set up a slant stall in the front for a 3rd. Each can be unloaded without the others.

It does not have a dressing room, but to me, that is a blessing, as I am not dealing with a HUGE trailer, and I still have lots of storage above the gooseneck.
