That’s why we can’t really know how any judge, of any gender, will rule. We can only hope that they are wise judges of the the law and make professional judgements as required, that are not affected by their personal feelings, as it should be.

Oh I understood it… just not sure where you’re going with it. There have been others “banned”’ from equestrian activities who found work arounds and nothing was done. If there is a different result this time, I’ll believe it when I see it .

Who are you referring to?

Paul Valliere comes to mind.

Yeah, he came to mind in this thread and also the one about Andy Kocher. He’s still actively training and selling horses.

Yup Paul Valliere, Barney Ward and a couple of others over the years whose names escape me at the moment

None of those people were banned by Safe Sport however.

A USEF ban and a Safe Sport ban are different animals. If the Safe Sport monitors catch a USEF member riding a with a S.S. banned person or if the violation is reported to Safe Sport, there are consequences. If a banned member shows up on USEF show grounds USEF is in trouble with Safe Sport.

If Valliere et al were banned by Safe Sport ,they would not have been able to do what they did after their USEF bans. Any USEF member who rode with them would be in trouble with Safe Sport.

Are there safe sport monitors going around on private property to check and see what people are doing off the show grounds?

No, but if it is reported to Safe Sport (with evidence) USEF members will be in trouble. There is much more of an incentive to respect a Safe Sport ban than there is a USEF ban.

part of what happened was he had Judge Immergut, she was a felony state prosecutor for many years and the the AG in Oregon. She is very tough and smart and no nonsense.

Wasn’t it an agreed recommendation? IME if the judge is not going to follow the agreed rec, they telegraph that in advance so the parties can regroup if necessary. That doesn’t always happened however. Recent example: Hunter Biden’s plea deal. I had cases were the judge ignored the rec to my dismay (and my client’s dismay for sure!!!).

Yes.

I think so, too. I think people are a lot more willing, maybe even eager, to report people defying Safe Sport bans/suspensions than they ever were back in the day to report USEF violations. For one thing, I think the nature of USEF members has changed over the years and for another, Safe Sport kind of represents a “new sheriff in town.”

Is George Morris still doing lessons?

Yup, she complained about it but there was very direct incriminating evidence for her involvement in the whole thing.

Very satisfying.

From what I’ve heard, yes people still lesson with GM. They’ve just become smarter about not advertising that fact after a pro received a suspension for hosting a clinic with him not long after his suspension was finalized.

short answer , yes

Given how many people still rode with Paul Valliere, I’d say George probably teaches as much as he wants.

Aren’t you a USEF official? Why have you not reported this, if you have knowledge of it?

I did not see it with my own eyes. The person who did it has already gotten in trouble
