Rich Strike Trivia Question

I just came across this picture in the following article. Does anyone happen to know why the people in this photo have their pinkies up? Obviously there was some significance to it.

I snooped around on the internet but haven’t found anything other than the picture you posted.

Thanks. Maybe they were trying to start a new trend, but they didn’t get the chance for another win photo. :woman_shrugging:

I found this mention in a transcript from an episode of Fox and Friends (June 10, 2022)Untitled-1 copy
It still doesn’t explain why this was happening though

Thanks. It just seemed like sort of a wacky pose to choose.

Ah, ok. I guess that sort of makes sense.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

How has that trainer been doing in the last couple of years after Rich Strike left him?

No idea. I am just good at searching for obscure trivia on the internet.

The owner and trainer sure had a big fall out. Sad, they went from the best of times to the worst.

I remember reading that the owner had left the trainer, although I think the version I read said it was over the movie rights to the horse’s Derby story or something.

That’s why I was wondering how the trainer has done since then.

I believe the Derby with Rich Strike was his first G1 win, wasn’t it? Way to start with a bang!

Good luck in finding 20 or 30 “good mares” for him unless Dawson buys the mares himself.

I never did understand why people thought he’d be desirable as a stallion at stud, with his pedigree and physical, just because he was a long shot Derby winner.
