I wonder if this will fall through like the last one did.

Looked online for Mountain Springs farm to see what it looks like and I can’t find anything that shows the facility.

There’s an article about it here: https://www.lancasterfarming.com/country-life/mid-atlantic-horse/thoroughbred-breeder-rich-miller-still-loves-the-game/article_c26be44a-1332-11ed-965e-ff48f268177e.html

Based on the info and photos in the article, it’s pretty easy to find the place on Google Maps. Looks like a nice facility.

I can’t wait to see his fee. My guess is private aka free to decent mares

at this point hes so far behind the eight ball of other sires from his crop. I understand he has soundness issues as far as racing goes but why can’t his subjective ownership put him with a reputable person for a second career.

Double suspensory, that the best vets and management could not get to heal? I doubt he’d hold up for anything other than low-level.

I feel a little sorry for the horse, just because it seemed like he had such a fairytale story to win the Derby, and then things took a downturn in a hurry afterwards.

It doesn’t sound like the owner is inclined to make the best decisions in the world.

But hopefully the horse will get to have a nice life anyway.

i guess I did not realize it was a double suspensory issue. And they still tried to return the horse the track???

I just hope he does not end up like the recent neglect cases that have been popping up with notable horses.

Dawson chose well when he picked Bill Mott to try. Mott wouldn’t have taken the horse just to get a day rate if he didn’t think there was at least a ghost of a chance. He’s a good horseman. Fortunately for Richie, Dawson listened for once when Mott and probably a vet or two told him the hard truth.
