Ride IQ Podcast Interviews - WFP & Ian Stark

Ride IQ and Sinead Halpin recently did interviews with William Fox Pitt and Ian Stark. These are SO good, must listen for anyone who is interested in the future of our sport. Sinead is an amazing interviewer.

Near the middle/end of each podcast they discuss their thoughts on the future of the sport and the current state of the sport, about frangibles, penalties, social licensing, etc.

I would love to hear thoughts from others who have listened?

I’ve only made it through the WFP one so far but I appreciated how candid he was about how the sport will always be inherently dangerous. Of course I want to see better safety measures at the upper levels, but I also recognize that as a lower level rider, I don’t have a true understanding of how the sport has evolved and the true impact.

Yes agreed, I thought he made a great argument for his views.

I was glad to hear both him and Ian are not fans of the pins and the way penalties are being handed out. It’s nice to hear an UL rider say they were sad for MJ to lose Tokyo that way, usually riders are so tight lipped about these things but there have been a handful who have been very outspoken about the penalties which shows me it is an important issue to them. Also interesting to hear the organizers want Paris 2024 to have all frangible devices.

I love these. My favorite is the one with Natalie Hummel
