Has anyone else had this problem? The lettering wore off my RideSafe bracelet such that it is no longer legible. Is there any sort of guarantee? I have emailed them but gotten no response.
It was a great idea… but not great if it doesn’t hold up.

Road ID all the way. And they have SUPER customer service.
Unfortunately, yes.
I had the issue with the lettering fading at about 2 weeks into wearing my bracelet (1 event and trail rides at home). I emailed the company and did receive a very prompt response with an apology and promise to send me a new plate done by a new engraver that wouldn’t fade… It is now several months later and I have never received the replacement. I haven’t emailed again because at this point, I have other options. I have a TAGG bracelet that I can register and I plan to have a plate engraved myself to add to that bracelet with my “pertinent” medical information in case someone doesn’t have a smartphone to read the QR code.
Fun fact about RoadID. When USEA passed the new rule, I emailed customer service to explain the rule and request some riding-themed badges, and they recently added “ride” and a horse shoe.

Well dang, now I need to get me that horse shoe which they didn’t have when I ordered. I had planned on ordering a badge with each of my horse’s names anyway. My RoadID has held up great.
Road ID has great customer service. I’m going to get on of their Pet ID slider to put on my fire-breathing-dragon’s bridle, so when he dumps me and is found in the next county, they’ll know who to call.

So far so good on mine too. I got an “EVENTER” tag for mine. The ones you can customize to say anything.

Had the same experience. Sent owner an email, got prompt reply that they would send me a new plate…took quite a while to come…its arrival was well timed with an email from the owner telling me that without their efforts, the rule would not have been implemented.
I just got an email saying that she had fired the previous engraver and would be sending me a new one, of course.
I’m not holding my breath, after hearing all the reports on how long the replacements take.
So which of the other companies should I pursue? I wear mine daily since I ride pretty much alone in a remote area.

Road ID all the way. Excellent customer service
Well, I have a runner’s one - Road ID. I love it. Sturdy, nylon, velcro adjust, plastic loop, and the outer trim threads are actually glow in the dark we found out. I bought the very cheapest model, comes with a metal engraved plate and got in about a week. Awesome. I actually wear this 8-10 hours a day as I travel for work and wear it on the road – just in case something may happen – I’m in a lot of nasty places (burned out houses, ditches, big intersections and always alone.) I’ve worn it probably a gadzillion hours longer than an eventer would wear one if they only used it when they competed or rode one or two horses a day and it’s like new after a year. And it was half the price.
Agreed with Road ID. I’ve had my Slim for about a year and a half. I basically never take it off, since between cycling and the horses it’s just easier to keep it on all the time. The rubber bracelet is light and stays clean - I don’t even notice it’s there. It looks just as good today as it did when I got it and they were very quick/easy to deal with.
As an avid mountain biker, I’ve used Road ID for years and have always experienced great service and durable products. Most recently, I’ve worn a Wrist ID Slim pretty much 24/7 the past 7 months since my husband has been deployed (contact #s for local friend and a family member while he is gone), and both the band and the engraving look the same as the day they arrived in the mail. Excellent products and service! That always wins with me.
Another RoadID fan here. Just ordered 4 new bands, actually - they have limited edition colors right now! I have a Slim (and a Sport, although I don’t wear it anymore) and it’s very comfortable to wear, durable, and I agree, great customer service!
Just ordered the slim one, Road ID.
As I mentioned on Facebook I am a Ride Alert fan. Prompt service, handwritten thank you note for signing on with them and their app is great. It does cost a bit $7.99 to down load and there are minor fees each time it sends a message for you, but since I drive alone every day, I find it a great comfort to know that it tracks me, alerts me if I am been sitting still for too long (my choice on that interval) and if I don’t respond it sends a text message to person/people of my choice to alert them that I may need assistance.
Road ID here too. Wear it when riding, MC riding etc. Holding up well. So comfortable I wear it most of the time because I forget to take it off.

Oh, I like this idea*. Thank you for posting it.
*The tag on the bridle, not your horse dumping you.
Forgive my ignorance, but what new rule?
