Rider Pilates - free online course

I’ve posted a few times about how the biggest change / improvement I have made as a rider has come from doing rider specific Pilates for the last couple of years.
It’s been hugely beneficial for me - in general physically and very much so in improving my balance, coordination and ability to follow and influence my horse more effectively.

If anyone fancies a go the free five day challenge starts in January and if you like that you can then sign on to a course.
The courses are not expensive, there’s usually a deal on signing up for three, and you don’t need any fancy kit (I don’t even have a mat!)

I have no affiliation to the course or Jess the lady that runs them, I just found them to be so effective I thought I’d share for anyone that might like to try it.

I don’t want to click on the link and I wonder how different it really is from regular Pilates…?

Link is legit, just copied over weirdly. It takes you to the page about the free five day course.
I posted as there was interest last time i mentioned it and this is the first chance to get on a course since.
Trying to be helpful.

It’s different in that the moves are tailored to work on what we need most as riders - soft contact, stability and flexibility in the saddle, independent seat. A lot of the moves are dynamic not static as we have to cope with the challenge being on a moving animal throws at us.
Jess is an eventer as well as Pilates instructor.
I did standard Pilates for a couple of years a while ago before moving to this and honestly, world of a difference in how they comparably (positively) affected my riding.

Thanks! I might give it a try, then.
My instructor keeps telling me that I lean to the right. Problem is, I can’t feel it, I can’t even see it (we have big mirrors in the indoor). Might try this before our next lesson!

I did this course the last time she offered it and not only is it legit, she specifically addresses things like being one-sided. I really liked the course, totally recommend!

I’ve been doing regular pilates for 25 years and have a reformer at home. As Hightale says, this is specifically geared to the smaller muscles we need as riders, and I notice the difference since I’ve been doing it. I’ve added it to my regular weekly schedule alongside my reformer workouts.

Thanks I’ve signed up. I’ve done Pilates before, but not rider specific. I do the David Thind Method, Feldenkrais for riders, which I have found to be very helpful as I’m a more is better then less person and it’s taught me less is more way better when riding.
