I’ve shared this one before: The current US National Champion Arabian stallion is an import from Poland named “Pogrom.”

Oh man, I know exactly who you’re talking about, that mare, and all those foals! If we want to be technical, the dam’s name was “Old Buttercup” …which to me is worse than just Buttercup! “Sport Cup” became just “Sport” very quickly.
I was wondering how they introduced him to buyers! “And this one here is our lovely gelding… Sport Cup.” I can just picture the barn owner having fits.

In the 90’s there was a good graded-stakes-winning racemare named Bodacious Tatas. I will never understand how the owner got that one past the Jockey Club.
My pre-teen friend and I used to sit there bug-eyed when a giant big lick TWH stallion would pass us around the show ring doing a flashy running walk with his “charms” just a swinging. His name was Great Balls of Fire!
Family friend had a mare back in the early to mid 90’s named Pop’s Cherry. I was horribly embarrassed by the name whenever I heard it because I had just started junior high and learned what a cherry was and what popping it meant

OMG.
Armageddon. I had to wonder if the owner knew what the word meant!
there was an Irish eventer named Drunken Disorderly
I always liked Three Holes for a god awful name. Guess they wanted a colt.
There is a reining stallion named Dun It With A Chic N. What a horrid name.
Inyureye was the sire of my mare Here’s Suds (Here’s suds in your eye). Nice racebreeding and nice racers, the both, but very odd names.
We had a spotted saddle horse gelding named Undertaker.
Currently have one named Studly…and he is not a stud!
Mom’s old App was Screw Top Quanah.

here’s another one: Stud Spider
blech…I don’t recall anything about this horse other than he was turned into a Breyer model at one point.
I have one. haa. He was one of my favorites.
I had a Paint/Pinto double registered mare named, boringly, White Mare Too. ?? I guess the breeder just rain out of creativity that day.
Speaking of running out of creativity trying to name one, somebody has posted a pic of a prospect over on one if the other forums Eventing maybe. Or H/J.
Apparently whoever named it must have looked around in desperation and seen the list of emergency contact phone numbers.
Its name is Emergency Contact.

there is a long line of Undertakers.

Interesting, took a look at Undertaker, saw that headshot and thought he looked a lot like Bret Hanover. Pedigree shows Bret Hanover as his grandsire…he would have been a good race horse with that nice breeding; he’s pure Standardbred.
there is a long line of Undertakers.
I can tell you that our Un didn’t look like those! lol…he wasn’t anything special, just a good little trail horse. I will dig around on fb and see if we have any pics. He passed prob 10 years ago or longer.

I think the next one should be Sippy Cup.
Inky Dinky. What were they drinking when they sent that name to the JC? Adore the horse, hate the name.
We kept Inky as a cute barn name, but everyone is surprised that he’s a chestnut and not black.
