Hmm, wonder if the Saddlebred Museum is doing the same thing? I’m still debating coming up for the Saddle Seat Equitation World Cup & wouldn’t have minded at least getting a grounds pass for WEG & hitting the Saddlebred Museum while in the area.

And I totally plan to smuggle food in. Once again I thank God for a small top shelf; a couple sandwiches will fill me out to a solid B! :D[/QUOTE]
This totally cracked me up!:lol: I hope you are planning to make your sandwiches on hamburger buns or some kind of otherwise round bread, otherwise your square boobies will give your plan away! Sub and hoagie rolls are definitely not recommended.
Well when you go to Disney or a large sporting event the food is way overpriced. And if you buy a cocktail at a nice restaurant you pay $10. Maybe New England is a more expensive part of the country to begin with but I am not totally appalled at the prices. Although not being able to sit down will be difficult. Good to know there are other food choices in other parts of the park. Friday will be a long day.
If you can stand a tiny bit of uncomfortableness for a few minutes, what about something like loose granola wrapped tight in small plastic wrap pouches, and then pack those into the girls? (That way you can kinda form it a bit… ) Pack an extra ziplock bag, and then when you get into the park find a nice quiet location, get the ‘girl granola’ out and then dump it into the baggie? Other options might include goldfish, raisins, small brownies, dried apricots, etc. I would not recommend cold cuts, pretzel sticks, or cheese. No one likes warm cheese. Except when the Greek restaurants serve Saganaki. That’s just the bomb.
I’m normally not a system cheater, but I think this calls for drastic measures
Thanks for the tip SteppinEasy re: other options. I thought there must be something in the Equine Village. I remember seeing in one of the pictures on the 2010 Radio Show FB page about a Normandy, France tent (next hosts for the WEG) where you can sample some of the food of the region.

Great Idea Morganpony86 : )
Unfortunately, my cup runneth over so no extra room to work with. Plan to stash some granola bars in my makeup purse and hope the security check of my little Ariat tote bag will not be that extensive ; )
The Saddlebred museum is free with either grounds passes or event tickets. At least somebody realizes that this is a good marketing opportunity!

Maybe I’ll live on the edge and go for the regular square bread. See how much I can get away with.
TooManyChickens: speak for yourself, I LOVE warm cheese! Maybe I’ll tape some cheese slices around my midsection… I’ve heard that wearing layers is the way to go at the WEG.
well, I am going just for friday and saturday. I am worried about starving and walking to death. hmmmm…
I’ve had good luck bringing my own food into these kinds of events by telling security that I have extensive, life-threatening food allergies and can only eat food that I have prepared myself. Always works.
Check these babies out:

Men of the world! unite and protest (WEG food restrictions) b/c the ladies there will be wearing baggy tops! No low cut form fitters for us now.
Maybe the men can smuggle the fruit in. I couldn’t stop myself here … then we can all lunch.
They’re charging extra admission for the International Museum of the Horse?
Gong!!! Anybody charging extra admission to any feature at the Park when I’ve already paid for WEG tickets doesn’t get my business. Not only is the budget tight, but I consider that I’ve already paid plenty for admission that should include everything on the Park grounds.
I’ll go check out the Saddlebred Museum, though. Never been to that one.
Because I’ve never been to WEG and can’t afford to go…why on earth are they not allowing people to bring in their own food/snacks? I’ve been to other large show events where they allow people to bring in food items, and you know what, people still buy the food and drinks offered at the booths set up as well. It would just make it more affordable for people to attend and maybe just maybe, they would of sold more tickets to the events!!!

Whoa. I don’t know about you, but I’m uninviting myself to that lunch. Boobie sandwiches I can handle, but don’t make me get near that fruit.

From what i understand, it wasn’t the IMotH’s doing. But haven’t heard back on that yet. Many people are upset about it.
I noticed today that there were at least TWICE the amount of picnic tables available today than on Saturday. As I was leaving at 7:00PM this evening, there were literally crews BUILDING more tables in the eating area by the main stadium. How’s that for responding to a problem?
I went to the museum yesterday. The $10.00 fee is only for the special exhibit, A Gift From the Desert. You can visit the rest of the museum for free. This is a special exhibit that took 3 years and several million dollars to put together. There are artifacts borrowed from major museums and collections from all over the world. It was well worth the extra fee in my own opinion, but I love Arabian horses. Unfortunately, I think that the confusion arose because of the way the Equine Village flyer was printed which does not clarify that the entrance to the exhibit is seperate from the museum. The flyer leads you to believe that it costs $10.00 to enter the entire museum.
As for the food, I think they could have done a better job, but my pizza was fresh and hot on a cold wet day and I managed to snag two wet folding chairs by a fence!
PS - Pintopiaffe, It was great meeting you in person!
