riding all over the country (phantom of the opera again)

Hey everyone!

about 6 months ago I asked the chrono forum for their favorite stables all over the country because I have a very strange situation. I’m a company member with the north american tour of “The Phantom of the Opera” We’ve now done over 700 shows! While touring I’ve become a re-rider, now jumping 2’6" hunter courses comfortably.
but I need your help! Below, I’ll post a list of all the cities we’re going to visit until January. If you know of a must go barn or trainer please send me a PM or respond on this thread. And if you have a horse that need some exercise, I’d be glad to do that too. I can also trade lessons for back stage tours

Here are the cities

San Diego
Tuscon
San Antonio
Houston
Toronto
Baltimore

Thanks so much! hope to hear from you all soon!

Bah Brisbane and Ipswich in Australia are not on your list!!

Do you know where you will be staying in San Antonio? If you don’t mind a little drive up i10, I recommend my trainer! She has AMAZING lesson horses that are honest and well schooled. She has a great facility, and she is also a great trainer. She trains out of Boerne/Sisterdale area. Her name is Rachel Gray. Her facility is Grays Equine.

She also used to live and train in Houston, so she might be a good contact to ask about riding in Houston. I drive a little over an hour to train and ride with her, and she has clients that drive from Houston, and some even followed her up here. Her website is nothing special, but please don’t let that deter you.

If you aren’t comfortable with that drive, there are other people around SA! Just need to know where you are staying or comfortable driving!

I’m close to downtown San Antonio www.limerickstables.com or check out our facebook page

Toronto has stables within city limits ( Sunnybrook and The Horse Palace) but if you have a car I bet we can find you better stables! Do you have transport?

Hi phlyingchanges

I have tickets for tomorrow’s performance of Phantom (in SF). Really looking forward to it. I bought my tickets months and months ago and am taking a friend who has never seen the show. What is your role in the production?

Did you ever find a barn to ride at while in SF? If you didn’t, PM me and I will see what I can do with my trainer.

What a fun thread! I look forward to seeing what gets offered! I too would like to know what role the OP has in the performance!

I don’t have any stables to add, but I wanted to say that I really enjoyed the show when it came through Segerstrom in July. The last time I saw it was 15+ years ago and it was even better than I remembered. Brava!

I think it’s so great that you do this!

Normally I recommend Susie Straus in Tucson, but she has cut back a lot and gone back to teaching in a classroom, too. She may still have horses she can give lessons on, and you can find her info by googling - her site is currently inactive, but she may have a facebook page for Wellspring Farm.

Jen Baltrus comes highly recommended, too: freedomrunllc.com is her site.

I hope to get to a show while you’re in town! Very cool.

Phantom is one of my favorites. I haven’t seen a live production in a few years, but always enjoy it.

What a fun job, OP! And super cool that you are still riding and meeting horse people all over the country.

Hi Brody! thanks for this info. I did end up riding at SunnyBrook! it was beautiful and the trainer Anna was a real doll.

Thanks!

awww! thanks so much CPP! we loved the weather down there. Thanks for coming to see us. we’re scheduled to return in 2019 I think so hopefully we’ll see you then (If I’m still doing this hahaha)]]

for Baltimore - if you don’t mind a maybe 20-30 min drive, then I would recommend Holiday Stables or Bayview Farm:yes:

Hope you’re enjoying your show, wish I could come and see it!
