Riding in Japan

DH and I are headed to Japan next month for 3 months. We are doing a 24 day group tour, then on our own for the rest. Have rented a campervan.

Has anyone been there and gone for a ride, trailride etc.? Have done some Googling and Tripadvisor and will do more!!!

Thanks for any info or advise even if not horse related, but always there is horses in the mix somewhere!!!

I never have, but I follow a guy who goes by the name WindyRider on instagram. He calls himself a “horse zentrepreneur” and posts a lot of really nice pictures. It seems that his stable is at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Maybe you can message him?

No advice on riding, but we went in Dec/Jan last year and loved it! We didn’t want to come home. I was hoping to go to the racetrack but our schedule was packed and there was not time. Make sure you get a wifi puck or E-sim, there isn’t really wifi everywhere like in the USA/Europe and use googlemaps for the trains/metro, it will lead you to the platforms you need to be at and has the times. Its intimidating at first but you’ll used to it. Also we used Uber a lot. Taxis also use Uber in order to be fair to them, its cool because they have the old school taxi cars and dress up nice.

Have Fun! I can’t wait to go back!
