Riding lessons - Toronto East?

Hi everyone,

I have looked through older threads and found some recent ones on Toronto, but they seemed to focus more West or North. I will be working downtown this summer, and living east of the Don Valley Parkway, but still in Toronto. I think somewhere heading east would be the easiest/closest.

Looking for a barn where I could take a weekly lesson, preferably on a Saturday or Sunday. Some flexibility would be great, as I may have to work some Saturdays. I would prefer hunter/jumper, but open to anything. Doesn’t have to be fancy, just safe horses/ponies and good instruction.

IMO, the two best in the east end are Pickering Horse Center (http://pickeringhorsecentre.ca/) and Monterra Farms (http://monterrafarms.com/). You can also try Pause Awhile Equestrian (http://pauseawhilehorseriding.com/) as a slightly further north but less east option.

I would not recommend Stonewood Equestrian. You can PM me if you want my opinion.

Thanks!

I second Pause Awhile. Pickering Horse Centre is really, really nice as well.

(But DarkBayUnicorn, wanna PM me about Stonewood too? I’ve heard some… things)

I second Monterra Farms. I grew up with Nat and Miranda. Awesome people and great coaches
