Riding skirts (split skirt) best fabric? Place to get them?

  • I’m posting this in multiple forums, so I apologize if you see it twice *

I just love skirts and the old ways of riding for women, that I thought I’d try to bring that back by riding in a split skirt!

I want something similar to this: https://www.annneve.com/images/product/ae203.jpg

But I don’t want it to look like it is split, or like pants. I want it to be as concealed as possible until I’m actually astride. The one thing I worry about is chaffing and getting pinched by the fabric, so I would love to know what people’s experiences were? Also, what stores/websites have you all found to offer a good riding skirt?

Thanks in advance everyone, and I would love to see your riding skirt pictures!

Has anyone used these before:

My ma had one of leather from her days as a cowboy in WYO (1928-38). Hers (which I have) looked like a regular skirt with two long rows of buttons up the front. One undid the buttons along one side, and the flap rebuttoned on the other side and PRESTO! You had a split skirt. It wasn’t a full skirt, more close fitting. She had a leather vest to match.

It looked like this one: http://www.ladiesemporium.com/store/002782.php
