Riding Sport Icefil shirts?

Tried one on at Dover, thought it was a nice fit (I’m hard to fit, long arms, huge chest, tiny waist). The white one even seemed like I could wear it under a coat at a small show.

I’m wondering how they hold up over time?

With a long spring/summer of greenie training ahead of me, I’ll need something to protect my Irish skin!

Any shirts you’d recommend as an alternative?

I tried on the Cool blast shirt they have (it’s the same thing I think- the one with mesh panels?) and it seemed pretty nice! Much lighter than their other Riding Sport competition shirt (super bulky)!

I’ve also heard good things about the EIS shirts, but they’re almost double the price

I have one that I’ve had for about a year. It’s been holding up well so far.

Compared to the EIS shirts, I find it is just a little thicker. Riding, moving around, it’s very comfortable…but I had it on one day in the 90s and was in the barn braiding. There was no breeze and I found it way to stuffy. But that one time is the only time I have not liked it. I’ve just made sure not to wear it in situations like that again! I actually wore it the other day when I rode…mid to upper 60s. I was very comfy.

Ovation has one I think that is very affordable (like $35). Its definitely not as thin as the EIS/Bette & Court shirts, but its decent.

I bought some Columbia Omni Freeze zip neck shirts last season and I love them. While they don’t have the mesh underarms they are still very comfortable as the material is thin. Arms are long and the body is on the fitted side. I also have a large chest and they fit fine. You can generally find these on sale at Sports Authority or the like.

I have had the Dover shirt for a couple of year now. It has a stain on it from hoof dressing but other than that it is good as new. Hopefully you aren’t as mess as me :).

That’s great to hear! I am quite messy… maybe one of these days they’ll make a navy or black?! (Defeats the purpose, but good for hiding stains!)

Other than fading a bit mine have held up very well.
