Riding Tights Idea - Hear Me Out!

@Blueeyedroan, have you tried Irideon riding tights? The “issential riding tights” are pull-on, not see-through, have sewn on knee patches, seams are minimal, and they are extremely long-wearing.

Belt loops have been added since I last bought these tights, and Toklat owns them now. Hopefully the quality is the same. Lots of colors and sizes are available. (State Line Tack appears to have them on sale, as well)

Have you tried these brands:
Esprit (really comfy. Really inexpensive) https://espritequestrian.com/
Canter Culture (really comfy, higher waist, cool colors etc) https://canterculture.com/

those two have become my go-to choices…

I ride in yoga pants/tights 90% of the time - I have never worn LL due to the $$$ and also the obnoxiousness of the (former) owner. But I think the Amazon tights I wear are basically knockoffs of LL. Not sure since I haven’t ever worn the name-brand ones, but they are kind of like a compression material but soft, high-waisted, and don’t have any seams the chafe me or the saddle. I have worn the same few pairs for a couple of years now and they still look and feel brand new! I can wear them to work (teaching) under a long top/dress and go straight to the barn and ride in them.

For lessons I wear the cheap Amazon tights someone else linked above and they are pretty perfect for me, basically just yoga tights with silicon sticky bums!

I had to buy a few different styles of tights lately, and I love the irideon and kerrits. While the esprit are adorable, they weren’t a good fit for a baby belly, so they got retired quickly (really the rise was just too low and I’ll definitely go back to them in my regular rotation). I did not like the SmartPak tights - they kept falling down (just like their breeches).

If you’re looking for something from Canada, I know someone who swears by Leveza breeches. They have a “yoga legging” style that is on clearance right now if you want to try those. That style doesn’t have any knee patch or stickies. Essentially just leggings without an inner seam. They have other leggings and breeches too that have the silicone or suede patches.

Also a Canadian company - Fournier Equestrian (formerly Annie Jay Equestrian). Super comfy breeches with the nicest fabric that is like a yoga pant. Knee patch and full seat available. Belt loops. Pockets. Mid rise. Size inclusive. They don’t have a gusset crotch (I think that’s what you’re referring to with the yoga pants - there’s also a recent thread somewhere on here about it if you search) but they are still comfortable. I have a long torso and get crotch wedgie from many breeches but these work.

Y’all are very bougie, compared to me and my Walmart tights. :joy::joy::joy:

I have been wearing these for 5-6 years and have yet to wear a pair out, and I wear them hard. I have one pair that I got caught on a fence and ripped. I mended them and they have continued on.

They have 2 huge pockets that hold my phone and Epi-Pens, and everything stays put.

The only negative thing is they have no stick, but my saddles have rough out or I use a ThinLine seat saver.

Honestly, I live in them!

I too get the cheap ones on Amazon, the ones I got don’t have that inner thigh seam though. They’re ridiculously comfortable and are several years old and showing zero signs of wear.

Of course I can’t find the listing anymore, but they look like these:
Amazon.com: FitsT4 Sports Women’s Full Seat Riding Tights Active Silicon Grip Horse Riding Tights Equestrian Breeches Forest Green Size 2XL : Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry

I know OP doesn’t want full seat, but I too am thicc, and mine are SO comfortable and flattering. The silicone isn’t terribly grippy, I don’t feel stuck in the saddle or anything. Riding tights usually have full seat silicone because the “sporty” material they’re made out of is hella slippery.
Also, I just can’t buy breeches or tights without that big thigh pocket anymore.

These are knee patch only:

I like the Baleaf fleece lined tights for riding, especially under my chaps. I get them in the long length. I’ve tried other brands, like Willits, but they weren’t right for my shape, especially in the length.

The FitsT4 look promising but haven’t tried them yet. I like a thicker fabric that isn’t too clingy and a longer length. Are they worth a try?

IDK sorry, I just searched Amazon for ones that look like mine, I couldn’t find the ones I actually bought in my “orders,” I must have used a different account.

Thanks for looking. Maybe I’ll just order some of the FitsT4 as an experiment. I can always return them if they’re too short or clingy.

I tried the FitsT4 one and like other reviewers, the full seat part came up weirdly high in the front crotchal region on me (I’m 5’5) and I had to send them back. They might work if you have a really high rise maybe?

High rise jeans and breeches do tend to fit me better but the grippy, sticky part sounds oddly placed. What’s it doing in the frontal crotch area? Eek!

I ordered 2 pair of their winter version, this is their 2nd winter. I’m very average in build, 5’ 6". Love them. They are starting to pill, but for $34 that’s fine. Can probably get 1 more season before they start to look “bad”, but they are not worn out.

You mean the FitsT4?

I like the winter version of a lot of cheap tights because the fleece lining, which honestly is minimal, provides just enough thickness to keep the tights from being too revealing on my rather aging body.

Yes, sorry I didn’t specify  Not SUPER warm, but our indoor is heated. But warm enough for trips out to the paddocks, barns, etc. I’m with ya on the aging body part!
