Riding Tights Idea - Hear Me Out!

Riding tights. Why are they always so uncomfortable in comparison to a good pair of Lululemon yoga pants? Essentially , they are the same thing without seams in the crotch that rub your nice saddles to death - are they not?
I am a die hard comfort person. My body is chubby. I ride long hours. And discomfort enrages me. I ride almost exclusively in yoga pants because riding rights just endlessly disappoint me. Lulu’s are more flattering and more supportive. And can be found at Value Village for $15 if you’re lucky too!
Also… everything seems to be full seat now and there’s not much I hate more than full seat tights or breeches.

WHAT IF… Lulu could be talked into making riding tights? All they’d have to do is move the seams and slap some silicone inside the knee, essentially.
Think they’d do it?
Would you buy them if they existed?

Do you know of any tights that fit and feel like nice yoga pants?

I find the Botori Adler “breeches” to be very comfortable if you want some compression and belt loops. They have suede knee patches which I tend to prefer over silicone.

If you want a more tight-like material the Botori Active and Taylor are both great as well. These are more like Lulus IME.

Are you wanting pull-on without belt loops? Because there are tons of yoga knee patch options with belt loops and a zipper. But I HATE pull ons or no belt loops so I wouldn’t buy those even if LuLu made them

I think she’s looking for riding pants without the crotch seam that I also hate. Yoga pants have a different seam in the crotch area that is so comfortable.

Pull on - no belt loops no fly. Just tights.

Maybe the crotch seam configuration of yoga pants is WHY they are so comfy and riding tights never stack up? This could be the secret.

I’m the opposite! Love me some high rise, no fly or belt loop, supportive riding tights.

I got a bunch of cheap, no-name brand riding tights from Amazon that are basically like yoga pants with silicone stickies on the seat and legs.

ETA: here’s one brand https://a.co/d/9T14fx2

They made them 15 or so years ago. Huge flop. Did not hold up.

Look at Performa Ride tights
I’m not a tiny gal and I do endurance riding (aka lots of hours in the saddle) and sometimes I also do Ride and Ties so I am running in them too. I’ve never had any rubs or chafing from them and they last forever

www.saddlebums.com already makes what you want. Super duper comfy and custom-fitted. They wear like iron, so are worth every penny.,

These have the seams in places where riders generally do not want them. Have you tried these ones? I love all the colors they come in.

My farrier swears by the breeches Tex linked! I finally bought a pair, but just in time for winter breech season so I haven’t actually used them yet.

WHERE WAS I FOR THIS??? Oh man. I’m going to hunt for leftovers now. I never knew.

I’m located in Canada, which means shopping anything in the US is extremely out of budget since customs/duties just hammers us, and my money is worthless down there. Well, CAD is worthless now in general haha.

I have Kerrits tights, Horze tights, even some AA tights. Had some FITS tights too. Not really a fan of any of them.

Yes, the seams are no issue at all. They are super comfortable.

I’ve work them on all weekend long camping trips where I basically lived in them in and out of the saddle. No complaints at all.

Cringe - no high rise please.

I am guessing the problem is less that riding tights suck and more that you simply have not found a brand that you love for your body shape.

Same applies to breeches.

This could be true.
I’m easy to please in jeans and yoga pants - you’d think it would be easy for tights too but I suppose not.

My big idea a few years ago was to have some kind of product to neatly apply silicone stickies to whatever your favorite leggings/yoga pants are, and viola! now they are riding leggings. Too complicated for me, but if someone could make that happen

I can live without the stickies.
Problem is that yoga pants/leggings have seams that run down the inside of your thigh… and this rubs on the edge of the saddle’s seat. Now if you ride in a synthetic or an old Stubben with iron for leather it doesn’t much matter.
But get into calfskin or buffalo french saddles and it will EAT them. Will actually wear through the seat.

I still have Equissentials with deerskin patches and absolutely NOTHING beats them for me! The fabrics are thick enough to hold up and look smooth, the deerskin is so soft and flexible, yet just enough stick without gluing you in or sliding around. And excellent styling. Love, love, LOVE my Equissentials!

Not a fan of Lululemon.
