Riding vacations in Argentina, Brazil, or Uruguay?

Does anyone have experiences to share from any riding trips in these countries? I searched the forum but only found a few old threads. I have a use or lose plane ticket on COPA Airlines so I’m limited to their destinations in Central or South America and these countries looked like they had interesting riding vacations.

Or if you have any experiences with the following tour companies: Unicorn Trails, Far & Ride, In the Saddle, or Ride Worldwide? That would be super helpful too. TIA!!!

When I was in Argentina, Eduardo Braun was happy to connect me with several (English speaking) farms in the area I was in. You can find him on facebook. Very nice guy.

Estancia Los Potreros is where we rode in Argentina - near Cordoba. Great place - played polo, did long day rides.

I have used Unicorn Trails and In the Saddle multiple times. I’ve used Ride Worldwide in the past but they sort of dropped by the wayside because their rides were of less interest or running at the wrong time for me.

Unicorn and ITS will have staff members who have ridden on the rides they offer. Phone them up and speak to someone with that personal experience.

As they are all UK companies, their prices are generally lower than those charged by a US business for the same rides.

I did just a day ride with Carol Jones in Bariloche, Argentina (in Patagonia) and my non-horsey husband actually brought up wanting to go back for a multi-day trip. The owner comes from a multi-generational line of gauchos and was a very interesting and warm person, the scenery was amazing, and the horses were all clearly well-cared for and appropriate for our skill levels. After we talked about my riding experience, I was put on a horse that was quite responsive for a trail horse, while my husband was on a very safe stolid “husband horse.” I’d highly recommend their outfit.

Thank you for all the responses! I’ll update my post when I’ve figured it out and report back for anyone searching in the future.

I came here to say Carol Jones! DH and I honeymooned in Bariloche (incredible place btw) and did a couple of hours with her. Unfortunately it was winter and we couldn’t do a multi day trip.

The horses were well cared for (all out in the field together when we arrived ), tack was in good shape (with warm fleece saddle covers), and the hospitality was :ok_hand:

Carol invited us in for maté afterwards (because Argentina), and it is gorgeous there.

I have a ton of Bariloche recommendations as well if you decide to go with that!
