Rigid Insulation under rubber mats and on concrete

we have a barn that has concrete floor in the stalls. We previously have used boards on the floor in the stalls but want more cushion and insulation. I have heard briefly of people using dense sheet insulation on top of concrete and then rubber mats on top of the insulation. Wondering if anyone has tried this and whether there are many downsides.

My first concern would be the foam compressing unevenly that would unlevel the mats.

Good matts provide cushion and insulation. I have the fancy green interlocking kind that are a bit thicker and softer than the standard black mats.

Which brand of interlocking ones are those? I have only seen the black ones.

Equimat North America

This was my first thought too.
