RIP 2/18/22 Josephine the COTH Miracle Cat

It was 13 years ago , Josephine was probably 5 yrs old , i euthanized her today , her time came . I don’t know if anyone will remember this post from 13 years ago but I thought I’d come back and share it in her memory , So many COTHers were following the hunt for her , it was truly a happy ending ….A
Miracle

RIP Josephine, you were a miracle that I will always cherish

I just spend quite awhile
Looking for this post about Josephine from Feb 2009 There we’re literally hundreds of COTHers. Keeping up with the hunt for Josephine and so many happy post when she was found, literally crying for joy ,

My Lost cat found at TRUCK stop on turnpike!!!
Hunter/Jumper

For those keeping up with this saga , see above links
I was the saddest person when we drove up to that truck stop yesterday at about 6:15 , It was not quite dark yet. We had left Valdosta on I 75 at around 4:00 The truck stop was right smack in the center of the Florida turnpike, there were semi’ trucks, cars people everywhere. There were some trees around and bushes and on the other sdide of the highway, cow pastures.
I had taken a horse blanket that she likes to sleep on, a saddle pad and a large kennel.I had paper to make posters if needed.I really felt hopeless,

My husband went one way and I went another searching and asking. One of the service workers told us that there were quite a few cats that were living around there, near the drainage pipe and he walked us around.

We were there for about 30 mins and this women saw me and asked me if I was looking for something. She had just gotton off work and was leaving
.I told her the story about my cat jumping out of a horse trailer on Wed. She says that the reason she was asking was that about three days ago there had been a kitty behind the coke machine scared and wouldnt come out. They had been feeding it and finally she was able to get it out and that she had taken it home and she was sure she was a spay and she was very sweet. She had given it to her neighbor.
Hope appeared! What did she look like!! Did she have four white paws and white on her neck and was she grey tabby? She said well she was multi colored and she couldnt remember about the white!.Hope went a way a little :frowning: But as she got on the phone and called to find out.She was talking and it sounded more and more like it was Josephine

She could not believe we had driven that far to look for her. Right there on the phone she was told that indeed the cat had four white paws and white on her neck . I was estatic. I’m serious I’ve never been happier! She was a angel and all our prayers and jingles were answered.

We followed her to the nearest Walmart , where her husband met us with Josephine.
She reconized us and purred and curled up on my lap the whole 200 miles back home.
We got home close to 12.00 last night.Truly amazing.

I want to thank SUGARBROOK for giving me those phone numbers of someone in Colorado who had Laurie Jueneman’s cell ph # who is down in Wellington.

I talked to Laurie when I got there to see exaclty which way she had ran, she was very upset also. I’ve left a voice mail saying we found her so I’m sure she will be so happy about it too.

Another miracle on COTH!! Thanks for letting me share!

P.S. Anyone stopping at Windy Willow Stables off I 75 for overnight stabling. My cats WILL be locked up from now on!
