Wow, such longevity!
I remember that Preakness! I was so excited because he lived in my county Plus, that’s how I learned how to spell testimony, lol! Jim McKay called him the horse with the misspelled name, so I had to look it up!
The end of an era. Too much heartbreak in the Boniface family right now. Godspeed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family as well. It has been a rough year on them. RIP DT
Aw, such sad news. That was such a fun Preakness, having a ‘local’ horse do well! And I’ve always admired the whole Boniface family, a class act- my condolences to them.
Just heart breaking… We’ve recently begun retraining a lovely gelding out of a Deputed Testamony mare. This boy gets nicer by the minute and is just unflappable. There’s been quite a bit of discussion around the farm about DT, his “clean” Preakness win, and how wonderful his lines have been for sport. RIP sweet boy.
I remember that Preakness and I always thought his name was so clever, to bad the JC screwed it up…It was such a nice play on his parents name. RIP and condolences to the Boniface family.
I saw the “old Man” this summer standing knee deep in straw in his stall at the stallion barn. Yes he looked every year of his age but he was not relegated to some back corner, he was upfront and center stage like the Grand Aristocrate he is!!! RIP
The only Preakness I went to - pouring rain, mud, drunks - it was great!!
RIP- I love driving by Bonita Farm and we were certainly proud to have a Preakness winner from the area.

A grand age for a fine horse. But it is still always sad to see them go. RIP.
