One of my favorites in the 90s, sad to read he passed (euthanized due to infirmities of old age). He was a hard knocking horse with a cool name.

Very cool name! RIP big guy.
I loved this horse and his sire.
He was genetically a “true black.” :’(
A great photo essay by Barbara Livingston about Devil His Due was published last week. What a tremendous horse, and what a lovely tribute: http://www.drf.com/blogs/giving-devil-his-due
Barbara has such a knack for getting the essence of every horse she photographs.
Nice to see that Devil His Due had some of the same “spicy” personality that his sire did.
Sad news. My beloved Designated Devil is by Devil His Due. “Desi” is so black that his sheen seems blue. And the phrase ‘full of personality’ doesn’t do him justice. He’s smart and brave - he runs up to scary things to investigate, when the other horses run!
All the Devil names are so clever, aren’t they?
