The great actor and true horse enthusiast, John Forsythe passed away today at the age of 92. He was a grand gentleman, performer, and he was my uncle. He will be missed.
My condolences to you and the rest of the family. He was a gifted actor and wonderful human being. He will definitely be missed.
What Kinsella said. I’m so very sorry for your loss.
Bearhunter, I am sorry for your loss. I just watched The Trouble with Harry again last night; it has been one of my favorite movies since I was little. When I saw the news tonight, I thought that was such strange timing. I always sing along when he is walking down the lane at the beginning. Wasn’t able to find out if that is him singing.
Anyway, I hadn’t known before that he was involved with racing; this makes that movie even more special to me.
I am sorry for the loss suffered by your family. He was a grand man.
He was a fine man and gifted actor – loved Dynasty!! My condolences.

RIP John Forsythe. I tht he was very cool in all his work.
My rather belated condolences, Bearhunter, on the passing of your uncle.
To say that he was “involved” with horse racing is an understatement.
He owned or co-owned some fast horses, like Targa, Mamselle Bebette, Longacres Mile. He was on the board at Hollywood Park.
He hosted the Eclipse Awards back in the '80s. He even won an Eclipse Award of Merit in '88 for his work promoting thoroughbred racing.
And, in the various racing forums, other railbirds at the Callifornia tracks remember him as being a good guy.
I have the impression that he’d consider that the biggest honor of all.
