A great horseman, innovator, trainer and expert on nutrition passed this morning.
Sorry to hear this. Met Marc when he brought a mare to my stallion, and he was just an all around lovely guy.
From the lack of responses I assume Marc is not well known in the US. He was a breeder/trainer who felt that even race horses should be allowed to be “horses” first. Even though there was much controversy he raced all his horses barefoot. They never wore shoes were allowed daily turnout with buddies in the field even the morning of a race. He had a degree in equine nutrition, had a conditioning program that did not include flat out galloping. He was successful in breeding, training and racing happy, content horses that could still win at the track. There is a celebration of his life October 28 at Woodbine Racetrack.
