RIP Pam Graham

She died in a car accident this morning. I hadnt seen her in probably 20 years, but will always remember how kind she was to me as a struggling young pro.

It’s very sad. I have friends that ride with her and are devastated. She was well loved by her friends and students.

I rode with Pam for a brief time a few years ago when I had just started riding again. What a loss for the community.

I know of at least one person on this board who can attribute the horsewoman she is today to Pam. She is very, very missed.

She will be missed from those who knew her long ago! I started riding with her 38 years ago. I was 5 years old. As I watch my daughter ride now, I think of Pam often. I wish we had reconnected a couple years ago we just missed each other when I was back home.

How awful. I remember relishing watching her ride at all the shows in Ohio when I was a kid – my trainer used to encourage us to watch her, and she always commented that Pam was “the total package” of a horsewoman. What a loss.

I just heard about Pam. The news is devastating, My condolences to her family and friends. I rode with Pam in the early 80s. She was a class act. We were always amazed at how she could work all day without a smudge or crease on her clothing. As a teenage boy, i was dirty in seconds. Pam used to make me stand in a corner and tell me not to move or touch anything while Tiger tacked up my horse. My mind is flooded with memories of Pam. Godspeed to you Pam!

A local show circuit is hosting a memorial Hunter Teams Classic this weekend in Pam’s honor. 50% of the fees will go to a fund for her son – I hope there’s a good turnout!

Brutus614 - Where is the show? I’d like to go and support the fund.

It’s the Showtime Series at Delaware – held this weekend at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. If you can’t get there, feel free to PM me. I ride at the barn Pam was teaching at, and can put you in direct contact with the barn manager there who is organizing the fund.
