Susan Harris passed away this week. Her classic book Grooming to Win has been on my bookshelf for as long as I can remember.

I’m so sorry to hear this, I too have had that book in my home library for ages and would still refer to it often when I was riding.
Ohhhh how sad. I did a clinic with her once probably 20 years ago or more, and yes her Grooming to Win is a classic text book. The drawings are so helpful.
What a loss of an amazing woman. I remember chatting with her on line several years ago in a “back in the day” horse group of some sort. It was such a treat to read her comments and true tales, and find out just how nice of a woman she was. RIP, and thanks for helping this horse-crazy pony kid learn the best way to take care of my backyard pony like he star he was…in my mind.
I’m very sorry to hear this. I also have Grooming To Win and it’s been my bible when preparing for shows for the last 25 years.
She was one of my Professors in College, a great and talented lady. She and her wealth of knowledge are going to be truly missed. This makes me very sad.
Such a loss for horsemen everywhere. So glad we have her words to refer back to. Godspeed
Oh! I had no idea!
After I got back from living in the UK, I got a job at a little h/j place in TX and that book was my savior.
Rest in Peace, Ms. Harris.
