The loss of Willem is deeply felt by all who loffed him I am sure, but it was a brave and unselfish decision to let him go. They always seem to tell you when it’s time and it is good that he had such a wonderful compassionate owner to hear his request.
The pain fades and the beauty remains…

My heart goes out to you, Coreene. Willem was a part of this board, and we will be less for his loss.
But, I am proud to know you, whom he loffed. Eleven years ago you saved him. And now, when it was time, you set him free to wait in peace by the Rainbow Bridge, for you. Your heart, your courage, and your selflessness leave me in awe.
Please know that all of your friends here hold you close to their hearts tonight.

Dear Coreene, I am so sorry for what you are going through. It took tremendous love and courage to let Willem go. As right as it was, it is so very, very hard when you are left with memories only. I wish you strength, the love of your friends and family, and the knowledge that Willem will be there with wings to take you across the rainbow bridge when it is your turn. Sending what love and comfort I can over the air.

I adored Willem’s posts - hearing things from his perspective made me chuckle and laugh out loud so many times.
I learned so many things from him and so many new words

Oh Coreene, tears came to my eyes the moment I saw the thread title as I knew what it meant. I had been so very optimistic about his recovery, but I guess it wasn’t to be.
Though it had to be ever so difficult to make that final decision, he told you very clearly that it was time. Remember all the good times and even the bad ones as they make up the story of your lives together.
RIP, Willem.

Corrine… I am so sorry for your loss, and so proud of your strength. I know Dee Dee will take care of Willem, and will be laffing as he rolls in the dirt. I am so glad we got to know you both. I think of Willem often, and I will always cherish this picture, which was one of my favorite of Dee Dee over the past few months.
