Rite track

I was considering my horse off of gastrogard my horse on rite track For maintenance. I was wondering what your experience was with this product. I heard that some horses didn’t like the taste of it and that concerns me.

Thank you in advance !

My “eat anything” mare absolutely refused to touch it, because it FIZZED. I might have had a bad batch or a knock off product. Perhaps try a small container first.

Interesting my horse generally eats anything. He has no signs of hind and gut ulcers I am just trying to prevent them from coming back after gastrogard. Been on a low dose for a long time but it’s costing so much and I do worry about side effects of long-term omezaprole. It looks really good right now and I really don’t want ulcers To ever come back.

I fed this for a couple of months before switching to Assure Guard Gold (which contains a similar coating ingredient and also does other purposes). My horse will generally eat anything, and he had no problem with Rite Track. However, I did toss it all around a good bit in his feed before I fed it so that each pellet was coated in the powder.

Rite Trac isn’t pelleted. It’s a powder. Are you perhaps thinking of a different supplement?

Each pellet of my horse’s feed. I tossed it so that each pellet of his feed was coated in the Rite Trac powder. “…so that each pellet was coated in the powder.” I know what I’m talking about, I just didn’t convey it thoroughly. It was Rite Trac.

thank you! for me it’s a question of whether the product is likely to be effective.

I can’t say for sure, unfortunately. I noticed no improvement in symptoms while he was on it, even for that 2 month period. He had colic every 2 weeks or so. His diagnosis was not made accurately until months later though, so we thought at the time we were treating maldigestion or hindgut ulcers. We now have a diagnosis of right dorsal colitis. For my situation, it did not seem to help.
