I’m ordering a pair of RJ classics on clearance with no return. I’m a 26 in most but I’m a 24 Ariats which are my favorite breech fit. Should I get a 26? I can find lots of threads on jacket fit for RJ classics but no breech fit thread. Thanks!
I haven’t worn a structured ariat but I’m also a 26 in RJ. I wear a small in the ariat tights.

I think they run a size small in length as well as around, thought the waist might be a tad generous. They will be low in the rise.
I think it sort of depends- breeches are usually too small in the thighs if they fit my waist, and RJ Classics are no different there, but some of the legs are really big along with the waist. I am on the smaller side of a 26 (24 in some brands) and one pair of the RJ’s I have fits my legs (and is too big in the waist), and another pair of the same model and size are HUGE everywhere. I have a third pair that is in between, but more wearable than the pair that feels floppy on me.
The problem is that we are all shaped differently, so off the rack stuff is a bit of a crapshoot unless you happen to have the body-type that model was designed for- the only ones I’ve found that fit me everywhere are certain models of the Equine Couture breeches.
