RJ Classics "Grey Label" vs "Orange Label" (Is orange really worth it?)

Anybody up-to-speed on the soft-shell options from RJ Classics who wants to tell me how ridiculously much money I should spend on a show coat?

It looks like they’re leaving the market for gent’s high-tech coats entirely (and just keeping the basic show coat and a melton), but they’ve still got stock in scattered sizes that they’re selling at 20% off and their coats actually fit me pretty well so I figured I should get while the getting is good.

Anyway, the “orange label” is more than twice as much as the “grey label”, but the descriptions for both are largely marketing-speak and don’t tell me much. Staying as cool as possible is probably my biggest priority. Any opinions out there? (…and if so, thank you!)

It’s not just the fabric, it’s the tailoring. If you want to look crisp while you’re staying cool, spend the money.

I have an orange label dressage coat and it’s fabulous. Well worth the money. I’ve never had one of their grey label coats to compare it too though.

(pssst - the RJ Classics Palm coat is on sale for $116 at Tack of the Day)

I love my orange label coats. They do fit better than the grey label and are lighter/better fabric. I buy them on sale when I see them which is fairly often at the end of show season.
