Here is a pic of my mare I bred to Roc…
Does anyone know the owner of the stallion Nancy W. ? She was very nice when I met her. I know she owns a few of his offpsring and wondering where they show and how they are doing. I think the oldest offspring this year will be 6.

Nancy Whitehead is a “loffly” lady. She is always willing to answer questions that anyone has about foals, mares or Roc. She is a H/J trainer so she’s “on the go” a lot but if you run into her at a show she will show you the Roc babies.
Most Rocs are shown around the Midwest area at Lamplight, Ledges and the like. The show schedules are at www.ihja.com or www.showplaceproductions.com if you want to come and watch. As others have said, they also attended the Florida circuit this past winter. It seems like they are spreading across the country as Roc’s reputation grows.

So many babies are out there and you can’t keep track of them!
You can find the results in the individual show results on the USEF site, so if you know a show to look for, the results are there. Since neither division is rated, they will not be in the Zone, Regional, or National standings though.
I may have some photos of Roc USA offspring at the IHF finals from the past couple of years, but I’d have to go dig them up…
That would be great if you could fine pictures. I always hear horses names and would love to actually see a pic of the horse. I did see Rechrome show last year at the IHF finals. He is a really nice horse. I wonder how many of his offspring do hunters, and how many do jumpers?

I believe Roc Star won the IJF Midwest Championship last year for four year olds at Traders Point.
In these three pictures, Pic #1 is our Roc USA baby in 2005 at 2 months (Roc’s North Star, aka Skyler); Pic #2 is Skyler at around 10-11 months with his full brother who was almost 2 at the time; and Pic #3 is Skyler at 20 months. We just love him. :yes:

competition results?
RocUSA looks very nice, as are the foals pictured here.
I’m curious if anyone knows how come he has no competition results outside of breed classes? I looked around on this website and there was nothing there to indicate he had done anything but show on the line (not including the 100 day test). It just seems a bit odd considering he is 9 years old now.
Just wondering because it seems sad to me that many gorgeous stallions here in North America don’t seem to follow through on their potential with a good show career. And for that I mean around 4th level in dressage, over 4ft in jumpers and above Training for an eventer.
I know Roc’s owner, Nancy, and have the distinct pleasure of owning several beautiful babies by Roc USA. Roc trained briefly with Laura Kraut as a 4 year old and with Rob Carey who showed him in Wellington as a 5 year old. Roc’s owner, Nancy runs a small but successful training business but, as can often be the case with “equinomics” was faced with a budgeting dilemma when it came to promoting Roc as a performance animal vs promoting him as a breeding stallion. When she saw the quality of his first foal crops (now 4 and 5 year olds) she made the decision to focus on his breeding career. I’m sure that there are many arguments against that particular decision but if a choice had to be made, I think it was a good one to focus on promoting the babies as they are proving to be everything their breeders have hoped for – and in my case, even more

I know that Roc did show in Wellington and Canada for a couple of years when he was younger. He won a young jumper class in Wellington as a 5 year old and I think those were set at level 6.
It is very expensive to promote a stallion with top trainers. When I saw her in Kentucky, she had her amateurs riding all the Roc babies in the hunter futurity and undersaddles. That is how quiet they are!
She very easily could have put one of the top east coast hunter riders on Rechrome and won the whole futurity!
The girl who rode him did a great job, but politics still play a role in the IHF unfortunatly.
I think Nancy is doing the right thing. Roc’s offspring caught my eye even without the BNT riding!

SLP, how is your yearling? She was the one with the really cool markings on her face! I would love to see some updated pics of her! What are your plans for your guy, and little girl?
The filly with the great markings (born in '06, full sister to ours) isn’t mine, she belongs to our trainer. I don’t have any new pictures of her but I saw her in early March and she is gorgeous, her head has grown into that crazy blaze very nicely. Daughter will be up there this weekend, I’ll ask her to take some new pictures and then I’ll post them here.
As for our almost 2 year old, we are hoping (fingers crossed) that he will turn out to be a jumper. :yes: He’s just been growing up and doing all of the ground stuff that you do with babies, but it’s still quite awhile before he starts any training with a person on his back.
His older full brother (3 this year) has started under saddle and from what I have been told took to it very easily and happily…smart kids, those Roc babies!

As to temperment I have to add that it can’t be beat. We had a 2 day clinic at our barn this weekend. One of the participants could not fill their spots (shoe off due to mud) so we grabbed my 3yo Roc filly out of the field, at the last minute, to fill the spot. This would not be a big deal except she hadn’t been ridden since December.
She came in with the rest of her friends making a rukus because they were left behind and other than a little fussing in the cross ties she was perfect. The minute she was tacked up she was all business. The clinician couldn’t believe that a filly that was lightly started ( about 15-20 rides) would just come in and go to work.
This filly lives out 24/7/365 with 4 other 3yo’s, she is of course fed and checked for problems twice daily, but other than that she is out with her herd. What makes me smile even more is the fact that as a yearling and 2yo. the clinician wasn’t reallyimpressed with her. This time though all she could say was WOW!!!
I know this rambled a little but, I’m really proud and I think that Rinka really shows Roc’s offspring’s attidute and disposition. By the way Rinka is out of a very sweet butslightly hot T.B. mare.
Good to know. My mare I bred Roc too is gorgeous and a great mover/jumper, but also hot. I am so excited, I can’t stand it. She isn’t due until Feb 08, but I am already counting the days!
I bred to him because of his babies temperament. I will never forget when I went to see his offspring. I went in their stalls and they all came up to me and said hello, carrots? They were so friendly and totally quiet! I see a lot of young horses and these were the most relaxed and happy 2 and 3 yr olds I had ever seen at a show!
