Rochester, NY lesson barns

I bought a Medium Pony from them back when I was in college for a friend. I also tried some of their other sale horses. The clients seemed pleased with the program (I went a few times…). And spoke with Heather a lot. But, besides that I don’t know much about their lesson program. Lots of school horses.

I agree with other posters - go take a lesson or two at some of your top choices - then decide

OMG I USED TO LIVE THERE!

I’d highly reccomend Lehman or Canalside

I was just talking about Jack Fromm and High View Farms. LOL!

I used to ride there in the 70s with Marion- I was just looking to see if they were still around and found this post! I used to be a “hot walker” for the polo ponies to get free lessons, too. I have fond memories of the place. I used to ride “Cocoa”, and rode in their schooling shows. Fun fun.

Jensens is right across from my old house!!! I grew up there! I would always walk over with my Dad and see the horses. You had to be 7 to ride there, I moved away when I was 6… I miss fairport so much…

Ps… Ever go to pennfield racquetball club?

These are a bit dated, but I used to board my horse and ride at High View Farms in the 60’s and early 70’s. I learned a lot from Jack Frohm. When I’ve been back in town looking for somewhere for my children to ride he told me he no longer gives lessons, his son Mark is running the stables, and they are focused on experienced owner riders…English. The facilities are great, 2 Indoor rings, outdoor ring and hunt course. Jack recommended Heberle’s for horse rental and or lessons. Lehman Farms across the freeway from High View is another option especially if you are into pleasure riding, easy access to Mendon Ponds Park.
