One of my horses loves to fling her bucket around. Her feed is soaked, so it really leaves a mess on the stall wall. Wondering if this would solve the problem…
It’s cool looking and if all your horse is doing is knocking it over, it should help. I of course could never get away with using these. Either of my boys would see that it rocked back up and spend all day rocking it until they found a way to flip it. Or drag it around the pasture or pick it up and beat the mares with it. Sigh… nothing that isn’t nailed down or 1000 pounds is safe at my house.
Yup. When turned out in the arena my boy will repeatedly flip the plastic mounting block like it is a ball. Give him a rubber feed pan and he will run around like a lunatic with it in his mouth and shake it like a dog with a toy. Anything else in there that isn’t nailed down and within reach is fair game.
Since he also makes a mess of water buckets, he only gets the auto-waterer in his stall. Of course, some days he decides that splashing water out of the waterer with his bottom lip is almost as much fun as tipping buckets.
It is a cool design, but it is priced a bit steep for a toy or even a feed pan, though!
I haven’t used one, but that looks like just the ticket for keeping my playful mare from throwing her feed pan in the middle of a soaked pellet/supplement meal and splattering it all onto the stall wall…
Oh so funny to see this come back up. I never did try one. I wound up just tying the feed bucket tighter to the stall wall, so there’s very little play. Instead of 10" of rope, now there’s none between the bars and the clip. That’s helped as there’s just a lot less swing.
I’ll go fix the link in the first post, since it looks like it’s not working anymore.
