Hugh is new to me, from my daughter who had him doing 3Day. His six years of racing and seven years eventing took a toll. DD felt he would be better placed in a less strenuous job–mounted archery horse. He arrived here Thanksgiving! I posted on COTH how intimidating he was at one foot taller than my QHs! Cloth advice was to do ground work! I did and almost daily pony ing. Today (drumroll) we pony Ed in full tack. After a 30 min brisk trot, I put the pony horse in hobbles and led HJ to the mounting block. And I Got On! He stood quietly. He walked off pleasantly. We did twice around the ring. Good enough! Why did I stop? I was planning to do more but the neighbor pulled up to move hay. Had to get off, but a successful start!
Congratulations!!
Sounds like a perfect start!
You know, I figured out what you meant, as I did read your other thread, but the image created by the new title made me stop and think, Really? Hugh Jackman. Oh my …
Good for you, hope all continues well.

I too, would like to ride Hugh Jackman…
or should I say canoe with him.
I am glad you had a great ride!!! First of many successful rides!
Go, @Foxglove !
As for all you dirty-minded COTHers, I say “Pshaw!”
& I, for one, would prefer to ride Sam Elliott… or Kevin Costner (in his John Dutton persona)
you win the internet with the headline alone!
or Tom Ellis (in his Lucifer guise)
Should have thought before I wrote the post. However, I am not alone in the horse named after famous people category. My vet has another client horse named George Clooney…
Awesome update!
Well, I wouldn’t kick him out of the barn either…
(Sorry for the gutter detour. Your regular programming will continue now.)

Sorry, still on the detour…
That is terrific, the first of many great updates!!
Go you, that’s fantastic
