That was a great round.
Lovely round from Bertram.
Is that a bad thing?
Not necessarily, just different. Show jumping horses aren’t as exposed to that sort of loud, excitable atmosphere - which isn’t a bad thing. I don’t think anyone brought a horse in here who couldn’t handle this sort of noise.
Ilex going…doing his airs above the ground lol…holding my breath
Most of these horses have jumped in Europe. The indoor venues can be pretty loud, to say nothing of the big outdoor shows like Aachen.
Loud ambient noise is one thing. But how many events, especially in more educated venues in Europe, have people randomly yelling and screaming?
Ilex can come here and eat crackers in bed.
Ugh, no! Ilex would have been something to see in the jump off.
At this level, I don’t think the horses really differentiate. Plus, they’re all wearing ear plugs and/or sound-proof bonnets anyway.
Ahhh noooo I was worried when he got steady out of the B in the triple…well there will be another 5*…
I’ve always been curious about Duguet’s horse’s name…like does the owner just like the Hunger Games series? Are they adjacent to Suzanne Collins (the author) somehow? Lolol
True, and most of them are professionals in this sort of setting. I just worry that a very poorly timed abrupt loud noise could be hazardous when jumping large fences like these.
Sophie had such great rounds in the League of Nations and I hope she keeps climbing even if tonight wasn’t her night.
Or the breeder? Duguet is the owner.
McLain and Richard did an adorable video for (I believe) the Open Road series that US Equestrian is doing. Very fun watch.
Sooo, what’s your ETA?
I’m right behind her
Wow, Sherlock barely touched that rail at 5A! Another good horseman in Harry Charles.
W O W, what a shame
